Chapter 23

"Well, if it isn't Josh Castro. Mr. Big shot." I heard a familiar voice say. I internally groaned, seriously? Does this guy ever quit. I felt Josh tense, but I grabbed him arm,

"Come on, Josh. Let's just leave. It was a stupid idea to come here." I said trying to tug him to the back door. He started to move with me, when suddenly that asshole laughed,

"You're walking away? Like, a little bitch. Are you afraid. That I'll be able to kick your ass? Or, that I'll take Charlotte away from you-" Josh growled, kind of like an animal. He shrugged off my hand and stalked towards Alex. Before, anyone could say anything, Josh punched Alex in the face.....

Yeah, let's just start from the beginning. When Josh and I were going on our date. Josh picked me up, Robbie threatened him. Typical day, really. We were in his car, driving for hours. Actually, it was only an hour.

"Josh." I whined, "Where are we going?" I asked, for probably the millionth time. I kind of hated surprises. I mean sure they're fun, when you actually find out what it is. But, surprises can lead to either happiness or disappointment.

"I'm not gonna tell you." He said, with that sexy accent of his, "So, you should stop asking." I laughed,

"Is that your way, of telling me to shut up?" I asked, even though it was more of a statement than a question. I started turning knobs on the radio. Josh gave me a look,

"Yes." Rolling my eyes, I sat back in my seat. I closed my eyes and tried to relax, but I was basically shaking in anticipation. And, it was cold in the car. Everywhere actually. I should've brought a jacket like a normal person. I tried to be quiet, I really did. But, after a minute of silence I couldn't take it anymore,

"Come on, Josh. Just tell me, I won't tell nobody." I whispered the last part. Josh rolled his eyes,

"Charlotte, I'm not gonna tell you." He said, smirking. I wanted nothing more, than to slap that smirk off his face. I bit my lip and quickly thought of something,

"Come on, I'll be your girlfriend." I said in a sing-song voice. Josh snorted, or I think it was a snort,

"I think we're pass that." I huffed, and sat back in my seat. Josh patted my knee while laughing. But, when he stopped laughing, he kept his hand there. Okay? What am I suppose to do? I could feel the warm from his hand.

"Can you at least make it hot in here." I said, gesturing towards the air conditioner. Josh rolled his eyes, but did it anyway. With the hand that was on my knee. When he placed it back on my knee, it was a little higher than before.

Crap, what do I do? His hand is on my knee! Luckily, I didn't have to do anything because the car stopped. I looked out the window, to see a secluded beach. The waves were calm, and a beautiful clear blue. I gasped, and turned to Josh who was watching my reaction,

"This place is beautiful. I can't believe the Josh Castro is a big softy." I said, smiling at Josh. I turned back to the beach, with the light colored sand. There were no sounds. It was peaceful.

"Just for you, Charlotte. And, there's a lot of things you don't know about me." I turned to him, suddenly becoming serious,

"Maybe, I want to know things about you." Josh smiled,

"Well, that's the point of dates. Which we should start, before it's too late." I frowned slightly, too late? What an odd thing to say. I stepped out the car, taking in the beautiful beach. I heard the trunk being opened, and shut.

I turned around to see Josh holding a picnic basket, and a blanket. He handed me the basket, and walked towards the beach. I followed him, silently. Still taking in the beach and such.
