Chapter 4 - "Like, is that handsome man your boyfriend?"

It was a rainy Thursday morning. I had been sat at my window now for half an hour just watching the rain rather than getting ready. I checked my timetable for the day and was already disapointed.

Quickly I changed into some jeans, a hoody and converse and grabbed my bags ready for when Mollie picked me up.

"Wow you're sober for a change" I muttered to my Mom who was sat downstairs with a cup of tea

"Don't get lippy with me, Summer" She growled

"Yeah yeah" I sighed

I was so bored of having this conversation it just started to go in one ear and out the other these days.

BEEP BEEP!

I walked towards the door ready to leave the house.

"Bye then!" Mom shrieked

"Oh sorry, I used to say bye but you were too drunk to even notice me. So I just gave up" I smiled before closing the door behind me

I got into the car greeted by a very grumpy Mollie.

"What's up?" I asked

"Late night" She sighed while combing over her hair...which I hate to say was a mess

I'd never seen Mollie look so...bad

"Why?" I curiously asked

"Homework, due today. Left it too late, go me" She cheered tiredly

Oh the perks of not having a boyfriend, having so much spare time on your hands doing homework that isn't due for atleast a month. What a sad life I lead.

We pulled up into our usual parking spot and there awaiting was Cole, Tyler, Loghan and Jay. No way was I walking in with these guys again. Coles head quickly shot up as he heard us pull up and a genuine smile appeared on his face when he looked at me. Quickly I looked to the ground as my cheeks heated up, oh god what if he thought I was ignoring him?

Wait, why do I care? And why the heck was Cole smiling at me? This isn't right...

"I'm going in because I am not having a replay of yesterday" I smiled while walking ahead

"See you later" Mollie smiled

I smiled back at her and started my walk in before I heard someone running up behind me.

"Frizzhead" Cole smiled

"What do you want?" I asked

"Jeez why everytime i try and speak to you, you have to bite my head off?" He smirked

"Because there's just something not very good about you Cole" I smiled back

"Well, I'd rather be known to be mean than nice" He muttered

"And why's that?" I questionned

"Because if you're too nice, you'll get walked over, Frizzy" He whispered while we both seperated to our different groups

What did he mean by that?

"Why does this keep happening?!" Sarah shrieked as she noticed me and Cole had walked in

"Okay don't kill me! I told them I wasn't walking in with them today, next minute the guys running up behind me to walk with me!" I moaned

"Summer, you don't think..." Rhea trailed off

"I don't think what?" I asked while buying a drink

"Oh my god is it not obvious?" She smirked

"It's Summer we're talking about here, she wouldn't realise even if it was taped to his forehead!" Sarah laughed
