I ran for another 5 seconds and stopped 15 feet in front of him. "Where have you" he trail off as he saw the child in my arms.

Emmett ran over to me and looked down at the infant, who was still looking at me. "Can I hold her? Let me hold her." he said, starting to bounce up and down with impatience. He could be so childish sometimes. Almost the only time he would be serious is when he was lying. I slowly put the child in his arms.

He looked down at her and he smiled. She looked at him and smiled another one of her toothless smiles. 'She is so damn cute!' he thought. "You are the cutest little baby in the world. I am going to be the best big brother in the world. I will teach you how to pull pranks on everyone and teach you how to play soccer and baseball." he said. He was actually being serious for a minute then he mentioned pranks, soccer, and baseball, he was childish again.

I had just taken the child back into my arms when Esme burst through the surrounding forest. "Are you boys." she trailed off, just as Emmett had, when she saw the girl. She ran to me and held out her arms. "May I?" she asked. I nodded my head and she took the infant from my arms. I couldn't help but feel a pull towards the girl. I felt uncomfortable when she wasn't in my arms, but I could see her so I was fine.

'She is the most adorable thing ever. Poor dear, I wonder where her parents are.' she thought. She smiled at the girl and she smiled back. The child is full of smiles. Esme looked up at me, "Where did you find her?" she asked. "I found her in a bush and a mountain lion trying to get to her." I replied. Esme and Emmett gasped. Esme looked down at the girl, "You poor dear, don't worry, we'll take care of you." she said.

The child was returned to my arms. We took off running to the house to have Carlisle look at her. It would take us 25 minutes to get there. The child had grown colder as we headed farther north. Esme had taken off her jacket, and when having mine and Esme's jackets around the child didn't work, we added Emmett's. That had finally warmed her up.

As we were running, I couldn't help but think about what would happen to her. Would we turn her into an orphanage, or would we keep her? No, we can't keep her. Its too dangerous. We are vampires, she's a human, one of us could slip up and she would get hurt, or even die. It pained me to think about something happening to her.

I will protect her, no matter what. She was looking at me, staring into my eyes. I smiled down at her and she smiled back. I knew what I would do, I would have Alice look through the future and find the perfect family to take care of her. A family that wouldn't hurt her or let her get hurt and let her have a happy life.

We were getting close to the house. I could now read everyone's thoughts. Carlisle, Rosalie, and Jasper were all wondering what Alice had seen, Alice was excited about us bringing the child. Of coarse she had seen this, she was so excited, she was bouncing up and down so fast that, to a human, it would look like she was vibrating.

We came out of the woods, everyone turned towards us. Alice ran up to me and took the infant from my arms. I suddenly felt worried again. We were so strong, one of us could try to hold her, but break her fragile little body instead. I planed on grabbing the child back from Alice, she turned and glared at me, seeing what I was planing. 'I'm taking her to Carlisle so he can make sure she's ok, calm down.' She thought at me.

She skipped over to Carlisle and put her in his arms. "Go make sure she's ok." She commanded him. He nodded and went inside. The others crowded around me, "Where did you find her?" Rosalie asked. I told them the same thing I told Esme and Emmett "I found her in a bush while hunting before a mountain lion got to her." "Oh my goodness, poor thing!" Rosalie said.

Carlisle walked out of the house with the child in his arms. "She has a cold, but other than that she is ok." he said. As if on cue, she sneezed. Rosalie ran over to him and held out her arms, Carlisle gently set the child into her arms and turned to us. "The child is a month old." he said. "She looks like she is a few weeks old!" Esme said shocked. "She is unusually small for her age." Carlisle replied.

"What are we going to do with her?" Esme asked. 'I hope we can keep her, she is so sweet. She is like the daughter I never had.' Esme thought. For the first time since we returned, Jasper spoke, "Everyone wants to keep her, so I say yes." "Yes" Esme said. "Yes." said Rosalie. 'Finally my dream will come true.' she thought. "Hell, yea! I want a little sister!" Emmett screamed.

The child flinched as Rosalie and Esme glared at him. "Watch your language around her." Esme said. "Come on, she can't talk!" he yelled. The child flinched again at his volume, so Rosalie smacked him on the back of his head. "Ow." he complained. "It didn't hurt and you know it." she hissed.

"It is up to Edward, he found her, he should decide." Carlisle said. I turned to Alice. "I want a family for her that will care for her, not hurt her, protect her, and let her have a happy life." I said. Her eyes went blank as she looked into the future. I growled as I saw the outcome through her mind.

"Nobody fits all of that description but us." she said smiling. "We could hurt her so easily." I protested. "You will give in and we will keep her, so suck it up!" she exclaimed. "Fine." I groaned.

"She needs a name." Rosalie said as Emmett took the girl from her. "How about Emily?" he asked, trying to find a girl name that sounded like his. "Rosella?" Rosalie said, trying to do the same as Emmett. "Allie!" Alice burst out. Why is everyone choosing a name that sounded similar to theirs?

"Isabella." Everyone snapped their heads up to look at Esme. "Isabella." she repeated, "Her name should be Isabella Marie Cullen." Alice squealed, "That's her name!" "I like it, but we should call her Bella, for short." I said. Esme turned to me and smiled. 'That is a wonderful idea.' she thought.

"So it's settled. We will adopt Isabella as our own. We will let Bella chose who she wants to be her mother and father when she is old enough. In the meantime, we need to get everything ready to go so we can leave for Maine." Carlisle said.
