It was the week before Christmas and I was going on a date with Thomas but I couldn't help but feel slightly nervous. After the kiss with Caleb we had come to silent agreement that wouldn't tell anyone about the kiss but I desperately needed someone to take too. I felt guilty going out on a date with Tom when I had kissed Caleb. Didn't he deserve to know?
I sighed and sat back against my head board. When did my life become so difficult with hard decisions, boy trouble and complicated situations. Before this the hardest decision I had made was doing my Calc homework first or Literature, or going to Burger King or McDonald's.
When the doorbell rang I grabbed my phone and my purse and walked down the stairs.
"Hey Al." Thomas smiled and smiled back trying not to let my guilt show.
"Hi Ca-Tom. Hi Tom!"I corrected myself.
Holy shit!
There was silence where Thomas just stared at me with and unreadable expression.
He started to laugh. "It's okay, I get that all the time. You must be spending so much time with the both of us, your getting confused. I swear my Dad calls me Caleb sometimes. I laughed with him in relief.
We walked towards his car hand in hand. He opened the door for me and I slipped in sending him a grateful look. And of course he didn't tell me where we were going all I knew was that I was going to love it.
"How long will it take before we're there?" I asked bored.
"Twenty minutes."he replied focused on the road. I sighed and fumbled with the radio until it stopped on and Ed Sheeran song. I grinned singing along to the song softly.
Twenty minutes later we stopped outside a building as I got I read the sign. Exotic Aquarium.
I turned to Thomas with a large smile and he grinned back at me with a wink. During one of our games of Twenty Questions I had told Thomas one place I would like to go that I haven't ever before was an Aquarium.
He grabbed my hand and we walked into the building, me bubbling with excitement.
I stared in awe as I looked around the semi circle shaped glass separating us from the fish. I looked up to see the fish swimming above us. Everything was blue due to the water around us and I felt like I was swimming with the fish. I laughed as I spotted a man in a Santa suit in the water swimming alongside the fish.
They were all so many different colors and sizes and I pocked the glass were a fish had stopped to stare at me. "Amazing. Aren't they?"Thomas said from behind me. I had totally forgotten he was here and I turned to him slightly with a smile and nodded in agreement.
He came closer and wrapped his arms around my front and rested his head on mine. I felt my heart beat pick up and if Thomas wasn't holding me so securely I probably would be on the ground right now.
