Behind Those Lies

Unsure of her own heart,

She fled before his eyes.

She ran as tears began to start,

For all she's ever said were lies.

Though she was yet to realize it at the time

She'd fallen in love at last,

With the very boy who'd called her Slime,

But had loved her since those times past.

She loved him, yet she hid it,

Behind all the lies she'd told.

She'd buried her feelings in a pit,

But now they'd taken hold.

So she turned and ran,

Back to where he waited

And flinging his arms their span,

He hugged her close, elated.

To those of you waiting for a perfect guy,

Perhaps you've already found one.

He has settled into your mind's eye

And refuses to be looked upon.

You look and look and look,

But you'll never find one,

Because him, you've forsook,

But you've never forgotten that one.

He'll think of you,

And you of him.

He'll make you blue,

But when things are grim,

He'll hold you close,

And you'll feel secure while you repose

In his arms in sweet leisure.

And there shall be ahappily ever after.

After all, what's life without simple pleasures?
