It's Friday night and I'm supposed to be at home, happily watching the rerun of "Pretty Little Liars" in my living room with a bowl of ice cream in hand. But instead, here I am in the stadium backstage during a One Direction concert. Duty calls - oh, no I don't work here, but Dad does. Welcome to the life of Lexi Higgins. Sigh.

"Hi Dad." I say in a cheerful voice once I approach him. I give him a kiss on the cheek, making him smile back at me. He’s wearing his favorite black shirt and worn out pants. But he still looks great in them as ever. I mean, he’s my Dad for crying out loud. Of course he'll look great in anything! Well, except in a potato sack. That, my friend, is an exception.

"Here's your bag." I hand him the black bag that I was carrying. Dad had called me an hour ago, panicking about the bag he had left in the house because he was in such a hurry. And so here I was, dropping it off in the stadium because it contained all of the necessities he needs. Extra points for me for being such a great daughter.

"Thanks honey." he acknowledges, taking the bag from me. "Have you eaten dinner yet?" he asks, raising an eyebrow at me worriedly. He musses up his already messy hair with his hand.

I swipe my strawberry-blonde hair to the side, giving out a loud, dramatic sigh. "Well, if you count cold pizza and expired lemonade for dinner - I guess I have." I reply teasingly at him, giving him a cheeky grin. I don't particularly blame Dad for not having any delicious homemade food at home. He's not that good when it comes to cooking and sadly, I inherited most of his genes. Hence, we always have take-outs.

He chuckles, shaking his head. "Well, then you're going to wait here and we'll go grab some dinner once the concert's over."

I nod. "But what about the boys? Won't they be needing you?" I ask, "It's a Friday night. You should be with them," I add.

Dad loves the boys so much, and he treats them like his own sons. After all, I am his only female child, and I know he always wanted a son of his own. So, he spends a lot of time with the boys, and he's very fond of them as much as they are of him. Although I'm not jealous or anything, they have been very kind and loving to my Dad, especially after my parents divorced.

He smiles happily as he holds the clothes he was carrying closer with him. "They gave me the night off. After all, it is their last night of tour, and we all get a few months break off the touring."

Before I could reply, someone starts speaking on Dad's earpiece, and he furrows his eyebrows, taking a deep breath. "Can you put these clothes in the boys dressing room? There are some security problems at the back. The fans are just getting wilder by the minute!" He hands me the clothes he's carrying before I can tell him no. "Don't take too long in their dressing room. I still don't want them to see you." He says sternly with a completely serious face.

"Sure, Dad - " I try to answer, but he’s already ran off.

I make my way to the dressing room, keeping in mind not to take too long in there. Dad still doesn’t want any of the boys to see me, ever. It's not because he is ashamed of me or anything, he’s just scared that they might fancy me, and start courting me or something. I'm his "little princess", as he says, and he can't bear to see me hurt, especially over a lad whom he treats as his own son. Again. But he has nothing to worry about, because the possibility of any of the boys showing any interest in me, is close to zero.

This place is huge, but lucky for me, I’ve been in the stadium quite a couple of times, so I’m not worried that I’ll get lost. Besides, there are lots of people around, so I can always ask for the right direction. See what I did there? Right direction, not one direction? No? Okay, nevermind.
