Prologue
Muran struggled back to her cave, blood spilling from her leg. Her breathing was laboured and her strength was evaporating too quickly. She had not foretold this.
Maybe she would die before Karoth caught her. Maybe she would be freed to fly her skies once more, without the shackles that would enclose her legs.
Muran snorted as she entered the cave, her pain heightening.
To have known what the future will hold for you is a terrible thing. To know you will live a life of suffering...
Muran spread her wings one last time before she fell to the ground. Spent.
Her mouth hung open, fighting to breathe.
At least her children were in the good hands of their draguard now.
She might not live.
At least her flesh and blood would fly the skies once more.
