Chapter Sixteen:
Hermione and Lexie had officially bonded by the time Harry and Ron dragged their tired selves to the dining hall. The two boys sat straight across from Lexie and Hermione, and Lexie couldn't help but notice the looks Ron was giving Hermione. She had to keep the giggles hidden from the trio, or Hermione and Ron would be exposed to soon.
Lexie set her goal to get the two of them together, because it would be a waste if the two of them were to not realize the others feelings.
The conversation they were having was starting to bore Lexie, and she started to drift off into her day-dreaming. They were filled with the mysterious boy that wouldn't stop haunting Lexie's mind. Whenever she were to close her eyes he would always be there, always in the back of her mind.
Clenching her hands into fists she shook herself out of the day dream, thinking of him in that manner would only tear her apart. That's what she told herself, she wouldn't get close to him.
She wouldn't fall for Draco.
Too bad she had already been pushed off of the building and was falling head first down into the pits of nearing heartache.
Lexie jumped when Harry placed his hand on her shoulder, jolting her back into reality.
"Are you okay? You are the one of the only ones still here, I tried to get your attention for a while now. Whats on your mind?" Harry asked her.
"It's nothing Harry, I am sorry I got you worried about me. I was just spaced out, sorry for being troublesome!" Lexie stood up and started to walk away from the Gryfindor table when a jolt of awareness pulsed up her spine.
Lexie stopped suddenly and turned her head in the direction she knew he was standing. Thier eyes locked and Lexie smiled a small smile that you could only see if you looked close enough. Then turned to Harry and asked a sudden question.
"Harry, what is tomorrows date?"
"Uhm, if I am not mistaken it will be the 31st of July. Our birthday." Harry said, pronouncing the word 'our' with fondness.
"It's nice to know I share a birthday with someone, especially if they are my other half. Harry what do you want for your birthday?" Lexie asked him curiously.
"I already have what I want. Lexie this is our first birthday as a family again. You will never be alone anymore." Harry told her softly, walking up to her and enveloping her into a hug. Tears formed in Lexie's eyes as the words embraced her heart in a soft warmness it had never felt before. It was all quite strange to her, but Lexie couldn't help but welcome it.
It was love. The love that only family could give, and that to Lexie was the only present she would need.
"Thank you Harry." She whispered into his shoulder. Tears slowly started to make their way down her face as everything started to catch up to her.
They stood there for a while, not moving and not letting the other twin go. No one had the heart to break the two up because it seemed as if you would break it, the carefully made world around them would be broken as well.
So Harry continued to hold Lexie, hiding her face and shielding everyone from her tears.
As Lexie wiped off the last of her tears, Harry slowly pulled away looking into his twins eyes.
