When the Ocean Dies

20 3 2

One day may bring an empty sea,
And within it only salt,
One day may bring a sailor's tears,
As he watch his love crash lifeless.
It seems the ocean is bleaching,
And the sand lay covered in death,
Where once it was a thriving home,
It now was just a casket.
Within the waters,
On the waves,
All the coral danced,
Yet now that coral is many shades of white.
Where once the sea was full of green,
With strong, dark hues of brown,
The water stayed a certain blue,
The kind that gives you chills.
Where once life teamed and thrived,
Even on the deepest dive,
No one found a thing alive.
"How sad to lose the ocean!",
Cried the hungry birds,
"How sad to lose the birds!",
Cried the hungry mammals,
"How sad to lose the mammals!",
Cried the hungry reptiles,
"How sad to lose the reptiles!",
Cried the hungry bugs,
"How sad to lose the bugs!",
Cried nothing,
For nothing was left to cry.
