Don't Look

Close your eyes and trust in me,
Is that so much to ask?
Well yes, it is indeed,
Because you're the one whom can see,
And how am I to know,
That should I start to fall,
You won't just let me go.
And what am I to do,
If you decide the truth,
Is not the things I've spoken.
Because I am your ears,
And you are my eyes,
We are the fear inside everything's minds,
We are the cause of the shadows,
We are the sounds in the night,
Your quickened heart betrays you,
We are strengthened by your fright.
And as the adrenaline rushes,
Your mind may stop its thought,
But we don't stop our listening,
Nor do we stop our sight,
So when it's really nothing,
Your fear was just a might.
Yet we still tried to warn you,
Just in case it was,
So you could get us far away,
To save us from a sickened love.
In the dark a shadow comes,
Its dark desire present,
You; the object of affection,
Would soon run another direction.
So trust in you,
To trust in us,
To listen for the call,
The one that marks a bad, bad thing,
So no more tears will fall.
Tuck your head under your covers,
And hide inside your bed,
Trust your ears to listen,
When your eyes are scared to fend.
No worries now my darling,
For when the morning comes,
You'll be off to school again,
To protect you from his 'fun'.
