Counseling King Cole...& Alice

Most Gracious Sovereigns, I am sent

to help you heal your marriage rent.

Your servants and your Lords have told

of story great and battle, bold.

Their prayers and cries have caused to be

myself as answer to their pleas.

I come now from another place.

No one here has known my face.

The future's where I do reside,

and getting here was some mean ride.

I am a Judge, though lady be,

and I am sent to counsel thee.

I come from time and country new

long since the world is done with you.

I'm small and. thin, my hair's not curly;

my name in fact, is Judge Hurley.

And what better angel could you ask

to help allay this silly task.

Now, what in Heaven's name goes on?

And make sure no one here's named, Tom.

My great and still, most mighty King

have you at length, thought of this thing?

Tis' true the Queen no longer be

exactly now, your cup of tea.

But think awhile about your Crown.

Does not her manner match your own?

If peace in kingdom you would have,

you must apply a marriage salve.

Kind words and deeds left undone

and your fair lady won't be won.

If you'll but take my good advice -

quit the fight and and go make nice.
