The United States Marine Corps Combat Utility knife, affectionately known as Ka-Bar, trademarked as "KA-BAR", has become a staple of the USMC as its premier combat fighting knife since its inception in 1942, during World War II.

Enduring skeptics initially, who believed the obnoxious size was of no use in combat fighting, the Ka-Bar has been proven invaluable to the service members.

(The author would like to interject for a moment that his Grandfather served with the USMC during this time period, and often would have to trust his Ka-Bar during the fiercest fighting of 1944 and 1945 against Japanese. and preferred the Ka-Bar over the M5 Bayonet he was initially supplied with to mount on his Model 12 Trench gun)

Currently the Ka-bar knife is upgraded with a new synthetic nonstick grip handle, as well as serrated edges. and is widely distributed to all USMC personnel as well as Naval personnel.

A custom made weapon, named after the Austrian Special Operations Jagkommando, and milled from a single piece of stainless steel, and for some, titanium, is a unique bladed weapon that features a vicious modification. Instead of the traditional single bladed edge, the blade is designed with a triple helix corkscrew-esque blade, twisting to an endpoint. 

This triple helix blade causes large area of perforation, and leaving a distinct corkscrew wound. Holes at the bottom of the blade gives weight reduction, as well as allowing blood to escape and flow off the blade.

In keeping with rapid adaption to combat zones, the bottom of the blade handle is designed as a blunt hardened steel end to breach windows, and of course, break a few skulls in the process if need be.

The blade sheath is also made with a durable alumminum alloy, and is screwed onto the handle, concealing the blade. This effectively turns the blade into a blunt force baton, and can also be used for breaching. 

Futuristic in some aspects, a piece of art to others, and a lethal, almost exotic, combat blade, the Jagkommando is a weapon that allows the user to deliver blunt force trauma, a rapid succession of deadly strikes, and hardened for combat that will fit a multitude of roles.

Errorneously believed to be a staple of Russian Special Forces, and most likely due to a mistranslation of the weapon, "Нож Разведчика Стреляющий" or "shooting knife" (see HPC-2 knife) that was issued to Russian Spetsnaz, the Ballistic knife is actually more predominantly known in the criminal underworld, as it is banned in most western countries due to legality issues.
