WPOV:

Nico isn't allowed to leave until they've done an entire investigation. I refuse to leave his side the entire time. A policeman comes in after two days.
"Can I speak to you privately?" He asks.
"No." I answer. "I'm staying here." I take Nico's hand and stare at him.

He sighs and pulls over a chair.
"We've arrested Percy Jackson." He tells me. Nico tenses when he hears Percy's name, and I run my thumb up and Joan he back of his hand soothingly.
"It's okay..." I whisper. He reflexes slightly and I turn on the policeman. "Good." I say.
"His trail hasn't been set yet. We think you should be a witness." He tells me.
"Okay." I'll happily ensure that monster is behind bars, where he can't hurt Nico.
"Nico should be one too, obviously." The policeman adds. I sigh.
"You haven't heard, have you?" I ask.

He looks confused.
"Heard what?"
"He isn't speaking. He's shellshocked."
"I see... When will he get better?"
"We don't know." I sigh. "He might never recover."

"Oh."
"Yeah." I sigh.
"Well, we'll inform you of anything else happens."
"Okay." I nod. The policeman leaves and I turn back to Nico. I hive him a reassuring smile, then suddenly have an idea.

I call a nurse over and ask for some paper. He come snake with a notebook and a pen, and I smile. "If you want, you can write your replies." I say to Nico. He shakes his head.
"Okay..." I sigh. I set the notepad and pen down on his bedside table.

Nico looks at me sadly. He reaches out his hand, then stops and moves it back, letting it fall onto his lap. He looks down and I see a tear fall form his face. I gently make him look sh me and wipe it away, leaning close enough to feel his breath on my face.

"Please... Try not to be miserable, okay?" I ask gently. "It's over now. I'm here. You're safe..."
