CHAPTER 1

FALLING

"Well, hello there Ash. And how have you been." I start to tremble harder as a whimper escapes my throat. It's him the man from my memories. The man I had just dreamed about. I'm so distracted that I don't realize he's stepped closer until her grasps my arms and yank me to him. I scream once and he grasps my arms tighter as he smiles.

"Go ahead and scream baby. You know I like it when you scream."

CHAPTER 2

TEETH BARED

ASH POV

My hands clench into fists as I stare into his black eyes and speak.

"Jarek." He smirks and I smirk back even though I'm trembling in terror. He looks disheveled and filthy like he's been hiding out, which he has been. He also has a scar now, sliding up his cheek and stopping right before his left eye. Hiding my fear even though I know he can smell it, I smile up at him as I tilt my head.

"I see our last fight left you a little damaged. It's too bad I didn't manage to kill you. I know how much you like to look beautiful so that scar must be eating at you. Not that you looked any better before it. You were always ugly inside." His nails dig into my arms as he snarls at me.

"You little bitch." He releases one of my arms to draw back his fist to hit me as I yank myself backwards. I fall on my ass as a loud growl reverberates throughout the dimly lit room. I leap to my feet as a figure steps into the light. His six-foot six inches dwarf the room as I raise my eyes to his. Despite myself a small smile comes to my face as I shake my head.

"You followed me." His green eyes stay on Jarek, who's standing in between us, and being completely ignored, as Liam speaks.

"Of course lassie. Ye aren't leavin my side after this incident that's fer sure. Yer as bad to get inta trouble as Mel is." Jarek's face is bright red as he looks between us. His eyes are wild as he speaks.

"YOU....you're her mate. This whole time I..." He stops and I realize he was fixing to give something away. This is exactly why Liam hasn't attacked him yet. Jarek seems to realize this as he smiles again and goes in for the kill.

"Well too bad you didn't get her first. She's really does love to scream." Liam's eyes glow as he growls and leaps at Jarek but Jarek transports out of the room. Leaving behind a pissed off Liam and...me. He walks over to me and without preamble, pulls me into his arms, hugging me. His chest continues to rumble with growls as he speaks.

"This is what ye've been hiding lass. That he hurt ye?" I relax into his arms and bury my face in his chest as I speak.

"And others, Liam, a lot of others. I didn't get a say. He gave me to them" I don't say all of it. I can't tell him everything, not yet. His hands tighten on mine as he speaks.

"Lass, I'm...why didn't ye tell anyone?" I put my hands on his chest, struggling to ignore his muscles flexing beneath my fingers, as I speak.

"Not now Liam....please." He frowns and releases me.

"Ye have to talk about it lass. If not with me then someone." I blink back tears and speak without thinking.

"I talked to Kade about it...." I'm interrupted by the fierce growl that rips from Liam's lips. I wait silently, staring at him with wide eyes.
