I Can't Hear Any Ringing Anthem

It's hard to be happy nowadays,
But sadly no one knows.
Ever since I went away,
I've felt so alone.

Even when I'm laughing,
Even when I smile.
I'm always secretly crying,
And people miss by a mile.

I try and stay distracted,
But that's different for all.
People try and get extracted,
Because they hardly care at all.

The silence has grown,
It's almost deafening now.
Have people been overthrown?
'cause I think I've hit the ground.

People keep yelling,
No one cares for me.
People keep screaming,
Why won't they see.

Its kinda funny,
It's kinda sad.
The dreams in which I'm dying,
Are the best I've ever had.

It's closest to my reality,
For no one knows much.
They insult me with normality,
For they think I know a thing as such.

Please don't kill me,
I'm trying to live.
Please don't drown,
I don't want to give.

If you're going to murder me,
Just get it over with.
I don't want to see,
Don't try a fifth.

No one knows,
No one cares.
They watch me grow,
With sickly stares.

I used to wonder why,
I felt so lonely.
I wanted to cry,
But I've been called a phoney.

He's not here,
That's the problem.
And I can't hear,
Any ringing anthem.
