I Was A Vase

I sit here,

On the balcony,

In the calming sunlight,

A tear runs down my face,

I didn't know that I was a vase.

I was fragile,

I knew that bit,

But I didn't know how hard I'd fall,

Until I did.

I crashed.

I shattered.

For I was a vase.

Now I'm a piece of glass.

I dropped the flask,

And more tears fall.

I didn't know that I'd crawl.

The sunlight hit my face,

I closed my eyes,

And for a mear second,

I saw his face.

It calmed me,

But then,

I opened my eyes.

It was too fast though.

Life rushed past.

And I looked into the looking glass,

Reality hit me,

Like a bullet in the head.

My optimism faded,

The tears stopped,

I had run out.

So it was a dry cry.

It hurt so much,

Wish I could die.

Why did I have to be a vase?
