S2 Episode 8: Battle at Aquarius Base

Our episode picks up right where "Revenge of the zodiacs" left off with Cancer and Pisces coming across a spaceship resembling a flying pirate ship with a robotic shark face on the front known as the Dark Raider landing in the Nevada desert, and out steps none other than Space pirate captain C'Thugar along with two of his crew members: the swordfish-like swordsman Gladius and the whale-like brute Balen with C'Thugar welcoming the two back to the old crew telling them "Andovera, Kraw, it's been so long since I laid eyes on you old scallywags. whaddaya say you come back to the crew, it'll be just like the good ol' days when we all sailed the cosmic ocean of Thalassia together" Pisces asking C'Thugar "why would we rejoin your crew after you left us for dead on this very forsaken rock?" Cancer snips his large claw saying "Eterius is our master now, we now serve the Zodiacs. call me Cancer and her Pisces" C'Thugar tells them "I need your help tracking down the relic that I've been spending my whole life searching for, the Eye of Thalassia. you two know this backwater planet better than I do, so you two shall be my guides as I search this planet for the eye" only for us to cut to the council of planets up in space where we see Alpha and the council (Alpha's face still obscured in shadows) getting bad news from Councilman Thunnus, representative of the Ichthyosapien species, that a band of pirates from his homeworld are on their way to Earth in search of an artifact from his homeworld: the eye of Thalassia, which was entrusted to the people of Earth to keep it out of the hands of Captain C'Thugar, Thunnus showing the rest of the council a hologram of the Eye of Thalassia explaining that the power the eye holds could be catastrophic if fallen into the wrong hands. we then cut back to Sector 51 HQ where we Lena in the training room repeatedly hitting the punching bag with her fist constructs, having flashbacks to her getting beaten half to death by her sister. Lena then starts hallucinating the image of Eterius who stands before her, the Annunaki tyrant telling her "you know hitting a bag over and over again won't make you stronger. unless you forgo your humanity and embrace your annunaki heritage, you'll never rise to the level of me or your sister. you were lucky to have survived your first encounter with Virgo" Lena then activates her arm cannon construct and tells him "Shut up! you're not real, you're just a figment of my imagination!" firing an energy blast at the wall only for her to lose control screaming in terror only for Sigma to show up in time to punch her in the forehead crystal causing her energy constructs to de-activate, Lena rubs her forehead telling Sigma "ow, what was that for teach?" Sigma looks at the trashed training room and tells her "you were exerting too much power for your control, it's best you throw in the towel and call it a day kid" Lena then gets back up and says "I can't, not until I become strong enough to face the Zodiacs head-on" Sigma tells her "you can't become that strong overnight kid, your mentor Agent Delta along with the rest of Sector 51's agents took years of training to become as good as they were" Delta enters the training room to greet Lena, telling her that Alpha has requested her presence. we then see Delta escort Lena into the communication room where Alpha informs her and Delta that he has learned from Councilman Thunnus that a band of Space Pirates have come to Earth in search of the Eye of Thalassia. Lena asks "What's the eye of Thalassia?" Alpha explains to her that the Eye of Thalassia is a gemstone containing untapped cosmic energy inside, saying that the space pirate Captain C'Thugar has been searching for it for years. the eye's cosmic power is incredibly dangerous which is why she and Delta are being sent to Aquarius base, the facility where the eye is being kept, in order to protect it from C'Thugar's pirate crew. Lena then asks "where is this Aquarius base located at?" Delta then says "at the bottom of the ocean, better pack your scuba gear kid" Alpha then says "Epsilon and the troops will guard the base while you two are away" after Lena and Delta board the Sector 51 dropship (with the LGMs helping carry their stuff) we cut back to the Dark Raider where we see Captain C'Thugar sterring the helm while Balen growls at Pisces and Cancer. meanwhile Gladius is busy sharpening his swords and asks C'Thugar "with all due respect Captain, are you sure letting these two back onto our crew is a good idea? they did attempt a mutiny on us, it's why we threw them overboard in the first place" Pisces holds her trident up to Gladius's neck, telling him "It's best you hold your tongue, last time I checked it was you who betrayed us" C'Thugar extends two of the tentacles from his beard to strangle both Gladius and Pisces, telling them "there be no tusslin' on this ship, you hear me? we're all part of the same crew" while Balen and Cancer both look terrified. C'thugar drops the both of them, and Pisces tells her former captain "there's something you need to know before going after the eye of Thalassia. this planet is heavily protected by it's sector, sector 51. more than likely they are aware of our presence on Earth and might try to stop us from stealing the eye" C'thugar then tells her "my pirate crew has done battle with many sectors from many planets" Pisces tells him "sector 51 is different, they've got a kid working for them that's half-Annunaki" we then cut to the sector 51 dropship hovering over the California coast before diving down into the deep ocean docking into Aquarius base, however our heroes are unknowingly being followed by the Dark Raider. Lena and Agent Delta exit the ship into the underwater base where they are welcomed by chief marine biologist Doctor Salma who welcomes the two to Aquarius base, saying that Alpha informed him that they'd be coming. Lena is in awe of the facility, seeing all the Ichthyosapien scientist hard at work in the research facility while Doctor Salma explains that Aquarius Base was built on Earth for two reasons: to study the properties of the eye of Thalassia, and to keep it out of the hands of those dirty pirates who wanna get their hands on it, Delta saying "you mean like Captain C'thugar? Alpha told us all about him" Doctor Salman says "yes, he's the one we're worried about" Lena then hallucinates Eterius who whispers into Lena's ear telling her "you remember my old comrades Pisces and Cancer don't you? they were once members of C'Thugar's crew before joining the Zodiacs" Lena then tells him "will you leave me alone?" Delta asks Lena what's wrong, and Lena tells him "nothing, I'm just fine". our heroes then enter the chamber containing the eye of Thalassia, and Lena is amazed at the sight of the glimmering blue crystal ball, exclaiming "amazing, it looks like it has an entire nebula inside it!" Doctor Salma says "Indeed, we scientists at Aquarius base believe that the crystallized exterior of the eye is like a shell that keeps the raw, unstable cosmic energy contained inside" Lena then says "just like my forehead crystal!" Doctor Salma smiles, telling Lena "excellent observation, starchild" meanwhile Delta is looking at the windows into the ocean outside and notices the silhouette of the Dark Raider passing by. Lena asks Delta what's wrong, and Delta says "we've been followed" Doctor Salma calls the entire facility to be put on high alert, informing everyone that there are intruders coming. we then cut to the Dark Raider docking into Aquarius Base followed by Captain C'Thugar, Gladius, Balen, Pisces, and Cancer exiting from the vessel only for the Ichthyosapien guards to point their guns at the five Thalassian pirates on the order to protect the eye at all cost. Captain C'Thugar says "You have something I want, yet it seems like you won't let me pass without a fight. very well then, I'll turn you all into chum!" C'Thugar's cybernetic hand transforms into a gatling gun firing a bunch of rapid-fire laser pellets at the guards while the other pirates join in on the fun: Gladius cuts down a few with his sword, Balen bashes several with his anchor weapon, Cancer crushes one's head with his big pincer, and Pisces impales a few on her trident all the while the Ichthyosapien scientists are cowering in fear. Lena, Delta, and Doctor Salma arrive on the scene to see all the carnage taking place, C'Thugar looking at Lena telling her "so you're the half-Annunaki my old crewmates told me about, nice to finally meet ya in person lass" Lena then activates her fist constructs, telling him "hope your ready to meet my fists". Delta whips out his laser pistols, telling Doctor Salman to keep the eye safe. the good doctor understands and leaves for the eye of Thalassia's containment chamber, however C'Thugar says "oh no you don't, nobody's keeping the eye of Thalassia away from me any longer!" and opens fire on Salma who tries to dodge the laser pellets as best he can while he makes a mad dash through the corridors while Lena blocks the laser pellets with her force field before delivering an uppercut to Captain C'thugar with her left fist construct, hovever C'Thugar says "that's a good hit kid, but not good enough" extending the tentacles from his chin to entangle Lena only for Delta to save her by shooting those tentacles off. Delta asks Lena if she's okay, and Lena says "yeah, just got blue octopus blood all over my jacket that's all" Captain C'Thugar's tentacles grow back before telling his crew "Gladius, Balen, Andovera, Kraw, take care of these land lovers while I go after the eye" before walking away. Pisces then says "don't worry captain, me and Cancer have tussled with these earthlings before" she then points her trident at Delta and says "I still haven't forgotten the day this one took my eye" Lena's eyes widen, exclaiming "no way, you two got a beef with each other? cool" Balen then comes rushing at Delta with Gladius riding atop the giant's forehead, Balen swinging his anchor at Delta only for Lena to grab onto Delta to teleport both of them out of the way. Gladius then leaps out off of Balen swinging his energy sword at Delta who blocks the blade with both his pistols while Lena takes on both Cancer and Pisces, Lena switching to her twin sword constructs to lock weapons with Pisces's trident. Pisces tells Lena "your efforts are futile child, soon Captain C'Thugar will have the eye of Thalassia and you will be powerless to stop him!" Lena is then grabbed from behind by Cancer with his giant claw and starts squeezing Lena causing her to scream in pain while Cancer cackles evilly, Delta exclaiming "Lena!" before we cut to Doctor Salma hiding inside the containment chamber where he grabs the eye of Thalassia and holds it close to his chest, the good doctor breathing rapidly through his gills as he fears for his life. we then see Captain C'thugar enter the room with Doctor Salma telling him "you'll never get your hands on the eye pirate scum!" C'thugar chuckles saying "I already have" grabbing the eye and yanking it out of the doctor's hands (poor Salma was too scared to move) before boarding the Dark Raider. we then cut to Lena being crushed by Cancer's giant claw while Delta is busy fighting off Balen and Gladius. Lena screams "Delta! help me!" only for Cancer to whisper into Lena's ear "Delta can't help you this time girl, all you can do now is accept your death" Delta then tells Lena "Lena, you've got to use your energy cannon!" Lena bursts into tears and tells Delta "I can't! last time I used that construct I lost control!" Delta then tells her "just do it!" Lena closes her eyes and hear the voice of Eterius in her head, her father imparting the words of wisdom "concentrate, do not fear your own power, for it is that power that makes an Annunaki strong. if your sister could master it, then so can you" Lena's eyes start glowing and forms the cannon construct over her hand to fire a concentrated energy beam right through Cancer's chest causing him to collapse on the ground. Lena notices the beam stopped and looks down at her smoking arm cannon construct exclaiming "the beam, it stopped. I guess I mastered it!" only for Gladius and Balen to retreat and board C'Thugar's ship, C'Thugar announcing to his crew "we finally got what we came here for" holding up the eye of Thalassia as the Dark Raider departs from Aquarius base. we then cut back to Aquarius base where we see a crying pisces cradling Cancer's lifeless, body, morning the loss of her beloved partner and fellow zodiac. meanwhile Lena and Delta enter the containment room shocked to find the eye of Thaassia gone, only for Doctor Salma to inform them that C'Thugar got the eye of Thalassia. the hot-tempered Lena then gets mad, exclaiming "Delta specifically told you to keep it out of his slimy tentacled hands!" Salma then said "he threatened my life, I was too scared to do anything! I'm a scientist, not a fighter like you folks at sector 51 are" Delta then says "we can fix this, all we need to do is get back to the dropship, track down C'thugar, and take back the eye of Thalassia" we then cut back to aboard the Dark Raider where Gladius informs C'Thugar that Cancer is dead, and Pisces is still inside Aquarius base. C'thugar sneers, telling his first mate "she served her purpose in helping us procure the eye, now she can die with the rest of them" before placing the eye inside the ship's computer console causing the ship's shark face to open up revealing a ginormous cannon inside, C'thugar revealing that he needed the eye of Thalassia to power up the built-in superweapon he's kept hidden in the ship all these years, saying that now he has the power to burn Aquarius base to the ground. Balen corrects him, saying "uh boss, Aquarius base can't really burn since it's underwater" C'thugar tells him "figure of speech, you dumb brute" before pressing the button that fires a concentrated blast of cosmic energy at Aquaris base blowing a massive hole in the side of the underwater laboratory causing it to fill up with water forcing the facility's Ichthyosapien staff and personnel to evacuate and swim into the deep blue. meanwhile Lena and Delta both try outrunning the rising waters and falling debris, Lena asking "what the heck just happen? where did that explosion come from?" Delta then tells her "probably an attack from those space pirates we just battled" meanwhile Pisces is too busy grieving to escape, closing her eyes ready to accept her fate as debris falls around her.  Lena and Delta make it to the dropship, however they are now knee-deep in water made worse by their only way of escape being blocked off by more falling debris. Lena and Delta are both then sucked up by the corner and jettisoned into the ocean where they almost drown, the two of them coming face-to-face with C'Thugar's shark-faced ship the Dark Raider. however the two are saved from drowning by Doctor Salma who pulls the two up to the surface where they are relieved to be not dead. Lena and Delta both thank the good doctor for saving their lives, and Doctor Salma tells them "don't mention it" Lena then suddenly senses the presence of the eye of Thalassia coming from inside the Night Raider, Lena telling Delta that the eye is still on board C'thugar's ship, and it's being used to power some kind of giant cannon. Salma then says "it must have been what destroyed Aquarius base!" Lena then tells Salman "thanks for all the help doc, but we'll take it from here" grabbing Delta's hand causing the two to teleport aboard the Night Raider catching C'Thugar's crew by surprise, Delta roundhouse kicking Gladius in the face knocking him out while Lena runs up Balen's anchor and punches him in the forehead with one of her fist constructs knocking him out as well. C'Thugar switches his normal cybernetic hand out for his gatling gun hand telling them "you'll never take the eye away from me!" firing a barrage of laser pellets at Delta who dodges them while firing back leading to a gunfight between the two while Lena sneaks around and plunges her sword through the eye of Thalassia shattering it into a million pieces, C'Thugar screaming "NO!!!!!!!!" only to be stunned by a shot in the back from one of Delta's laser pistols, Delta saying "you're going away for a long, long time C'thugar" we then cut back to Sector 51 HQ where Alpha congratulates Lena and Delta for managing to take down C'thugar and his pirate crew and keeping the eye of Thalassia out of their hands, even if it meant destroying the eye in the process. Lena then says "I hope Doctor Salma isn't too mad at me for that" Alpha then says Salma isn't mad, saying that since his job on Earth is done he and his fellow Ichthyosapiens have moved back to their homeworld of Thalassia. meanwhile we cut to Epsilon and the troops escorting C'Thugar, Balen, and Gladius into their cells, Epsilon saying "I can't believe Delta and the kid managed to bag an entire crew of space pirates, talk about a catch of the day" placing each of the three into their respective cells before leaving the room. we then cut to Pisces emerging from the submerged wreckage of Aquarius base revealing that she survived ending our episode on a cliffhanger.
