Alex's POV

We laid in my room and at first things were a little off putting and I was beginning to think being an ass to her had ruined any shot I had at being with the beautiful girl. Lost in my own thoughts I couldn't help but mentally kick myself for being so stupid. Of course my mate would be powerful and more than capable of being a Luna- and to my surprise an alpha at that! 'I absolutely blew it didn't I?' I thought to my wolf. Blaze seemed to snicker at my thought adding to my confusion until I felt a gentle hand wrap around and fall lightly on my chest and a head snuggle into me. I looked down to find Ember buried her face into my side- sound asleep. Maybe I hadn't ruined it after all. I prayed to the moon goddess I could make things right- I will spend the rest of my life trying to make it better. Among my thoughts an idea popped into my head. I will have a pack meeting with the entire pack after Ember's training tomorrow and I will let everyone know that this beautiful woman is my destined mate. I somehow managed to pull Ember into my arms without waking her and drifted off finally into a peaceful sleep.

Ember's POV

I woke up to strong arms wrapped around my waist and the best smell in the world- cinnamon rolls! Just kidding, Cedar and Pine, but also, I could smell cinnamon rolls and my stomach started gurgling. I tried to quietly and gently pry these strong arms off so I could go potty and join everyone for breakfast, but he wouldn't budge. He just tightened his grip. I turned around to face him and started thinking of things that would wake him, a evil grin spread across my face once I thought of something. I leaned down close to his perfectly crafted face and started placing light feathery kisses to his nose, eyes, forehead- anywhere but the lips since I was yet to have my first kiss, I didn't plan on giving it away just like that. He started stirring. "You're missing." I heard him say in a deep husky voice. Goddess, he sounded so sexy when he first wakes up. "No, I'm not, wake up I'm hungry" I whispered. He peeked an eye open to look at me and closed it just to snuggle deep into my neck. I let out an involuntary groan- which seemed to work because he pulled back, eyes open and eyebrows cocked. I wiggled out of his grasp and got up from the bed. "Smell that? There're cinnamon rolls!" I said excitedly. He chuckled at me and got up and made his way into his bathroom. I noticed how good he looked in his sweatpants and a body-hugging t-shirt. I mentally drooled over it. Shaking my head I made my way out of his room and down the stairs before he could even stop me. I still just had on an oversized Tee and didn't bother with anything- I was too hungry. I made my way in and grabbed a plate filling it with 3 cinnamon rolls, a couple things of sausage Patties, a biscuit, and some eggs and sat down. I didn't even notice the room had gone silent. I looked around and caught my brother's gaze. "How do you feel?" He beamed a smile at me. "I feel okay I reckon" I smiled back at him. "Good, you have training today. You'll be training with our cousin Eli and Hunter today." He told me and I nodded before digging in, soon enough everyone continued on with their morning chats once Alex came.

After breakfast I went to my room to get ready for training today. I decided on my B.V.B. band tee and some comfortable black leggings and a pair of black sneakers. I would definitely need to go clothes shopping soon since I was running out of clothes pretty quickly. I ran a brush through my hair and brushed my teeth, and sprayed on some light body spray and made my way down to the den to meet my brother. We soon made our way out to the clearing were the training takes place.  "Sweet pea, I'd like you to meet your cousin, Eli." My aunt beamed proudly. "It's nice to meet you" I nodded to him and in return he gave me a smile. "Oh Charlie has told me all about you, a shame I didn't get to see the infamous red hair of yours, but I'm sure the new suits you just right." He told me. "I am gifted much like yourself, although I am certainly not an alpha. I wield water." he explained. "Oh, I bet that's interesting." I replied and he nodded. "The first thing you're going to have to do is get mad, but don't shift into a wolf- instead you'll need to concentrate and focus your energy to your palms. and picture your power forming into a ball, like this." He demonstrated. I gawked for a moment at how easy he made it look. "Don't get discouraged if you don't get it on the first try!" I nodded and tried to do exactly as he said, thinking of how my family was ripped from me was enough to get me mad, I started to shake and normally I would shift, however, instead I did as he told me, and I closed my eyes and pictured my energy flowing from my mind and heart through my arms and into my palms. I felt heat. "Great job! I've never seen someone catch on so fast!" He spoke. "It doesn't surprise me, she's an empath as well." my aunt informed him. "That would actually make a lot of since." I opened my eyes to see two small balls of fire in my palms. my eyes widened, I felt hot but not fire-burning hot.

We continued this same small practice for an hour and a half and finally at the end he allowed me to try and throw a fire ball- which ended in disaster as it just went a few feet and sputtered out of energy. He told me we would pick it up from there the next day after our warmup exercises, I also practiced a couple protection spells with my aunt and she gave me one of our family grimoires to practice with. By the time training was over it was well past lunch time, and we went to grab some food- today it was hotdogs and chili, something simple and easy as I suppose most of the pack had a busy day. After lunch it was time to train with Hunter. I wasn't entirely sure how to feel about it.

"Hey fireball." Hunter said, leaning against a tree. "Uh, Hey." I replied. "Look I know we got off on the wrong foot, but I wanted to apologize, if we had met under different circumstances, I am almost positive we would have been really good friends." she explained to me with a slight blush creeping onto her cheeks. I couldn't really blame her; most people didn't associate with me as a rogue. I am still getting used to not being looked at as a rogue, but an alpha instead, I still get the stares but now they are different. I couldn't really explain it. "Well, I will be training you in hand-to-hand combat, there's no need to really train you in your wolf form, you handled me pretty well the last go." She smirked. I agreed and gave her a smile, and with that, we started our extensive training. By the time we were done, I think it was safe to say we were both thoroughly wore out. We had trained for 3 full hours. She was right about one thing for sure- we definitely got along nicely. She was a firecracker and had this way about her I couldn't quite put my finger on.
