Urmila came downstairs stairs, where her Ami was waiting for them at the breakfast table.

"Good morning, Ami," she greeted, but Ami's gaze remained distant.

"Kya hua?" Urmila asked, to which Ami simply replied, "Kuch nahi, bas aise hi... subah subah Haseena mujhe aise hi kehti thi."

Haseena felt a lump form in her throat, the sight of her mother's pain tightening her chest. For a moment, she yearned to embrace her and reveal the truth, that her daughter is right in front of her but she was unable to do so. In last two days she was knowing the real meaning of helplessness, that washed over her as she battled with her emotions.

"Kahan kho gaye?" Ami's query interrupted her thoughts.

Haseena, masking her turmoil, responded with a forced smile, "Kuch nahi, bas soch rahi thi... ki ab main tujhe waise hi bolu jaise teri Hassena bolti thi, tujhe bura toh nahi lagega na?"

"Bilkul bura nahi lagega, lekin yaad rakhna, kahin galti se Karishma ke saamne aisa mat karna, wo nahi bardasht karegi." Ami's hand caressed her cheek.

Karishma entered the hall, she greeted Ami with a warm smile. "Good morning, Ami, kaisi hain aap?"

"Good morning, bilkul theek hun... itni der kaise hui?"

Karishma shrugged it off, "Kuch nahi, bas aise hi," glancing at Urmila, who met her gaze with a knowing look.

Karishma sat down on her seat and began to eat, "Tumhara uniform tumhare kamre mein rakha hai, wohi pehen kar aana hai."

"Fikar mat kar, ek dum police ki tarah dikhegi, ak dum teri dilruba ki tarah." Urmi said with a wide grin.

Ami looked at Urmila in surprise, then glanced at Karishma, who was about to say something but before she could say, she sense Ami gently placed her hand on Karishma's, Karishma looked at Ami, who nodded in assurance.

However this didn't go unnoticed by Haseena, couldn't help but smile. "Thank you, Ami, Karishma Singh ko sambhalny ky liyay, and thank you, Karishma Singh, Ami ko sambhalny ky liyay."

"Okay, main chalti hoon, mast tayar ho kar aati hoon," she said, excusing herself from the table and leaving the room.

Haseena entered her room and saw her uniform neatly laid on her bed. She picked it up gently, feeling the familiar fabric between her fingers. As she changed into her uniform and looked at herself in the mirror, a rush of emotions flooded over her.

Putting on the uniform again after one month brought feelings of nostalgia to her. It reminded her of her duty, her responsibilities. But at the same time, it stirred up memories of the past, reminding her of the challenges she had faced and the sacrifices she had made.

As Haseena fastened the buttons of her uniform, she couldn't help but recall the moment when the bullet had struck her, shattering her world and leaving her life hanging in the balance. and at that time between life and death she thought wearing this uniform is something she might never experience again.
