My Betazoid OC is the maternal cousin of Deanna Troi/Riker.
Unlike Deanna, Tessina is a full Betazoid, she's also already a commissioned Starfleet officer, she graduated from the Academy.
Tessina is a Lt. Commander and like her cousin sits on the Bridge beside the Captain, Tessina also marries Tom Paris around season 5, they get together in season 3.
(For Blood Fever I'm think of pairing B'Elanna with a male OC that was close friends with Tom Paris at the Academy.)
