The next few weeks was spent sitting on the Grand Hall, molding ice figures and reciting the alphabet. Eugene was surprisingly easy to teach. He was an attentive listener, who knows how to ask the right questions. Soon enough she was teaching him to write as well.

Elsa quietly wondered if he had started to forgive her from her accusations before. He had gone back to his usual, cheery attitude, and seemed more than a little bit easy going during his nightly visits. Secretly, she decided that as long as she never brings it up then it was enough, and left it at that.

Later throughout the week someone found the emerald necklace stashed behind the cabinet in one of the bathrooms. It seemed Miss Gretta knocked it over while she was trying on her new gift (a ruby necklace this time), and somehow forgot about it.
