Chapter 25:
A truth from the past

I liked what happened but I can't help but feel nervous knowing her mother saw us naked on her bed.

Shit.

I tried to shoo away those thoughts but I just couldn't. And now I am 20 minutes late for my class.

Okay. At least, I am safe.

Everyone started clapping as soon as they saw me. Wait. What's happening?

"A surprise for you." bungad sa akin ni Sam.

Did Isla prepared this for me?

My dearest Kirsten,

I know it's been weeks and days since the last time we talk but now I think I am ready. Forgive me for making you wait for too long. I hope I'm not too late. I just wanted to process everything, not because I was angry or what. No. I've been doing a lot of thinking and there's an important thing I wanted to say to you.

Please meet me at our favourite place in this world.

I love you forever. And as always.

-Aaliyah

I smiled as soon as I read her letter. I missed her so much and I can't wait to talk to her so I texted her.

Me: I got the flowers. Thank you! It smells so good. See you later, Ali! I missed you. So much!

At dahil ayokong sabihin na may surprise din ako sa kanya.

Aaliyah: Always welcome. Won't be able to see you at lunch. We have a meeting for the upcoming graduation ball with the cheering squad. I miss you more!

It's time for our second subject but there's still no sign of Isla.

I tried texting her but she's not replying. I hope she's okay.

Time went by and Isla's still not replying. I'm starting to get worried about her.

"I can't reached her.

"Gosh! All of our plans for the graduation ball can't be finalised without her. So maybe we thought they had a family thing." pagkwento niya habang inaayos ang gamit.

"If ever she call you back. Please tell her to call me ASAP for the graduation ball. Thanks!

I was already done preparing when I tried to call Isla for the last time. Should I drop by in their house for a minute? Maaga pa naman.

I gave myself a one last look. Gosh! I should probably go now. I don't want her waiting for me.

I quickly answered it hoping it was Isla.

It was my father.
