Assalamu alaikum everyone. So something huge happened yesterday, Mufti Menk was in Nigeria, Kaduna, my state😁 I'm still in a trance guys. He was with sheik Muhammad Salah and sheik Walid from Australia. It was like a dream come true. Uh...So, the event center is quite far away from my house, and due to the traffic, we had to trek home. This might to unusual to others but I'm weak when it comes to walking for a long distance. I was tired! Sick tired. If that is a word😅. I spent the day lying down and got better alhamdulillah this evening.

❤️❤️❤️ Here is the update!

The next day, Safiyya and Joseph settled on the couch, checking his books and textbooks. When Alfred said that it runs in the blood, she was getting to see it with each passing hour. Her son was a smart child.

"Masha Allah, your marks are so good baby," she said sincerely as she cupped his cheek affectionately. Joseph blushed at the compliment and pouted. "Even with this, I am not the best Mummy. I always fumble in the exams. I just get confused,"

"I see. Well, that won't happen again," she smiled and held his chin. He blinked expectantly and she continued, "On your next exams, I will be there and with our strength together and Allah's will, my baby will be the best,"

"Really?" he inquired and she nodded. "To me, you are already the best," she said and pecked his forehead which made him blush harder. Safiyya wondered if he got that from his father too but quickly shoved the thought.

They continued going through the books until Alfred entered the room. He sat on the front couch and kept his laptop on the glass table.

"The family game event is tomorrow," he started and they raised their heads. Weren't they aware?

He went on anyway, "Other families have chosen a color for their shirt and two are remaining. Pick one, so that I can order it now. Red or green?"

Safiyya glanced at Joseph and they shared a knowing look but before they answered, they heard a click and Alfred announced, "We are going with red,"

Safiyya glared at him unbelievably before turning and grumbling under her breath, "Someone is jealous for not having green eyes," Joseph joined her and giggled.

"I heard that," his voice made her freeze. She awkwardly adjusted her hijab and stared at Joseph who had mirth in his eyes.

"You don't have sharp ears also right?" she whispered.

"I won't tell, " he grinned mischievously leaving his mumy agape. Alfred shook his head and left for the fireplace. This woman he called his wife can be childish sometimes. Or she was a child. To him.

That night after reading a bedtime story to Joseph, Safiyya turned off the lights. He was fast asleep, so she read some verses from the Quran and dua before getting out of bed. She had already applied for a day's leave for tomorrow's event.

Which…she wasn't ready for!

She took the phone and dialed her mother's number.

"Assalamu alaikum Ammiy," she greeted with a smile when Ruwaida picked.

"Wa alaikumussalam Safiyya," Ruwaida answered and after a round of greetings, Safiyya told her Ammiy about her Abooh picking the call the other time.

"He told me," Ruwaida confirmed and Safiyya sighed in silence. "Your Abooh loves you Safiyya,"

Safiyya breathed before replying, "I know that Ammiy. If not, he wouldn't have agreed to let me stay in his house. He gave me food, shelter, and clothing, so I am grateful. He just missed the affection,"
