Vegas pov
A few days had passed and it seemed like things were going well. I was the last to get to the beach and it seemed like the water was already dead
" hey guys sorry I'm so late it was hard to get out of work on time "
" don't worry about it "
Ari said I looked out and saw Bax, Poppy, and Summer coming back
" did you guys get any good waves "
" I mean I caught an alright one but it was little waves "
" so nothing to write home about "

He laughed as the three of them made their way to us
" Bodhi you have to work on- "
" I know poppy ok "
It seemed like they were in the last few moments of a fight so I just didn't speak
" god I wish a wave would knock them over out there but how was work "
Bax and I started to walk off
" Well it's great when people try to come in and return something without the recipe and they get mad at you for their incompetence "
He offered me a fruit bar
" Thanks, I'm good Sam brought some donuts for us today "
" ok "
He let me rant about work as he packed up his things.
" ok I'm ready oh hey Poppy's having a team meeting at her house tonight do you want to come "
" I'm not on the team Bax "
" yeah but still "
He smiled
" fine whatever "
We made our way back to his place as we turned to go up the driveway he stopped

" My parents are back "
" is that good or bad "

I followed him up and into the house
" hello mum dad "
He yelled as we walked in
" They must be outside or something um head up to my room I'll grab us something to drink "

I made my way up the step and when I turned to go down the short hall to his door a woman was there
" oh sorry "
I tried to turn to go back downstairs but she grabbed my arm
" Who are you "
" umm Bax and I are- "
" ok well friend of Bax what are you doing here "

I looked down the stairs and said a silent thank you as Bax was making his way up
"Mum let go of her "
" she's American is this Summer "
" god no this is my girlfriend Kimberly and I told her to go upstairs now come on let her go "
She did and with a smirk she said
" ok go on girlfriend of Bax "
I quickly got to his room and I couldn't make out what he was saying but I could tell he was mad. I heard stomping then a door slam and then his door opened. My heart was pounding and my breath caught in my throat as I waited for the door to open more and reveal who was behind it. The second my eyes landed on his I started to death heavy and my heart only continued to race and then my hands started to shake. I stood up as he closed the door and the ringing made it hard to hear what he said
" Vegas what's going on "
I started to pace and he stepped closer I put out my hand to stop him
" Kimberly "
My eyes started to burn and my through was dry
" I ... I'm "
He stepped closer and I looked off to the side trying to focus on something but I couldn't settle on anything and then I was wrapped in his scent. Ocean breeze and mint.
" my god you're heart is racing "
He said and he tightened the embrace and I slowly wrapped my arms around him. I got my breathing under control and then I started to cry
" I'm sorry I'm sorry "
I said into his chest
" Why are you apologizing you can't control it I'm sorry for whatever brought it on "
After a few moments I started to pull away and he let me
" I hate panic attacks "
I laughed and he tried to give me a smile but I could tell it was the fakest he's ever done
" do you want some water that's what I brought up "
" Yeah "
We spent the next few hours just talking about random things. We were about to leave to head to Poppy's when I started to feel dizzy and then it all went black.

Bax pov
We were in the living room because I was putting on my shoes and I asked her a question
" yeah sure "
She said and it sounded odd and when I looked back she was falling luckily she leaned on the couch.
" come on wake up wake up "
I was holding her head in my lap and then she slowly opened her eyes
" what "
" you just passed out has that ever happened before "
She nodded and I could see the pain on her face

" When I stopped eating for a week almost "
As soon as the words left her lips her eyes opened wide like she didn't mean to say that
" Kimberly tell me the truth when did you eat last "
Her eyes started to water
" Monday "
" It's fucking Friday "
" I know "
She started to cry still lying in my lap and so I did my best to calm her down eventually she stopped crying
" hey let's skip Poppy's and go get pizza and I know the last thing you want to do is think about food but look I don't know how to help you with this but I- "
" Bax let's go get pizza "
She only had a small slice but it was something. As we sat there and she slowly ate the pizza I thought about how it seemed like she was losing weight and color at the same time. I can't believe I didn't notice we're together I should notice these things. I looked up at her and she had this look of pain on her face
" what's wrong "
" It's just it hurts "
I put my almost-gone slice back on the plate
" How so "
With shaking hands she said
" well it's more of a mental pain than anything "
I put my hand over hers and quietly said
" it's ok we'll work through this together ok "
She nodded and took another small bite.
