The next day I got a text from him with an address and it said to meet him there at 10 so I got ready. I put on a pair of shorts because it's so hot and a thin long-sleeved shirt. When Surf and I got there it was 10 on the dot and it was a beach I looked around not able to find him and I started to get worried because I didn't see him anywhere. Just when I was about to leave I saw him in the water so I got a little closer and started to call his name
" BAXY BOY "
he looked and then came in
" hey sorry I lost track of time yes you brought Surf "
" Careful or I'll start to think you like her more than me "
He smiled as he was scratching her head and then he hugged me out of nowhere
" Sorry I just "
" It's ok so what do you have planned for us today "
" I don't know I invited you just so you could watch me kill it out there "
" oh yeah that's what you call that "
" what do you surf "
I looked out at the water
" no no, I can't even really swim so "
I know it's a dumb thing to make up but it came out before I could think
" ok well we can just hang out here I think some of the team is coming "

Summers pov
We were all going to meet up with Bax to just have a fun day. When I walked down the beach a little I saw that girl from yesterday and he was standing close to her I'd never seen him like this before he's usually a playboy but he's been acting ... different
" yo Bax "
He looked up and he almost had to convince her to walk over with him it seemed
" hey guys "
He started to say something then corrected himself
" right guys this is Veg-"

He smiled a little and then Ari and him started to talk about the waves
" hi I'm Summer that's poppy and Bodhi "
" hi it's nice to meet you guys "
" oh she's American "
Poppy said and we both smiled the guys walked off and it was just the girls now
" so you and Baxter "
" oh I'm sorry I didn't mean to step on any toes "
She looked at all of us a little nervous

After a while she said
" ok who's with whom I sense some transitions "
I laughed
" you can say that again umm well Ari and I are together Poppy and Brazil and then Bodhi is with a girl named Tuscany but she's away at the moment and no one is with Bax "

We were watching the guys and then they started to yell out numbers
" hey summer "
" yeah come on Ari what's up "
" umm can you tell me what they are doing I'm so lost "

As Ari got closer he said
" ok it's the girl's turn "

Poppy said and they got their boards and went out. Bax sat down next to me with a little smirk

" nothing umm Summer was teaching me a little about surfing "

I heard the others clapping and I looked out and I said
" ok so let's see if I have this right "

He looked at me and I looked back out at the water
" so with that like tail flick thing and how she works the wave the judges would give that ride a 7. Something in a competition "

I said it with an accent and then he handed me the last bite of a pop tart

Over the next week, I got to know them all better. I started to learn where places were and I got a job at the shop.
