This being my first fanfiction, I never thought I'd get that many reads. Been writing others, but this one is the only one that's getting attention.
The character Claus is actually based on myself. Plus I believe I've done a fairly decent job writing a character who's a hardened war veteran who's had his fill of war, but just doesn't know how to stop being a soldier.
It's realistic to how a real soldier actually is like. I've met a few vets, and read accounts from those like them, so it's as close to how somebody like Claus is actually going to be.
But as for the story, we're past the halfway point for season one. But from this point forward, things are going to really heat up. While I haven't watched all of Gate, I am still going to finish the story.
Plus none of my characters have plot armor, and I usually wing it instead of writing a plot outline. Real life never gives you a predetermined plan, hence why I wing it, and For the single reason of maximizing realism.
If anything, it makes for a good read.
