People ask me, and I can't deny,
In my heart, I'd sigh, though I try.
Love's only chance, in heaven's shroud.
I love him deeply, that's very clear,
But our love can't escape doubt and fear.
It leads me to a path less traveled,
To the one who taught love, I'm unraveled,
The one who's love's essence, always near.
I am love, without it, I'm so hollow,
Life feels empty, a vast, dark, shallow.
Without love's light deep in my core,
No God, it feels like life's a bore,
A loveless world, a future I can't follow.
In a world where change and strife abound,
Forbidden love, our hearts tightly bound.
I think of keeping his love deep inside,
Bearing sadness, pain, no place to hide,
Quietly loving, yet living worlds apart.
We accept our fate, it's not so grand,
Two souls connected, but can't hold hands.
Choosing not to embrace what can't be,
In this fleeting love, we find our decree,
In our hearts, a love that's hard to withstand.
My love for you won't wither or cease,
I'll pray for your heart to find its peace.
My admiration for you, it won't decay,
A bond to your soul, it's here to stay.
I'd do anything to give your heart release.
To free you from love's maddening cell,
One day, in heaven's embrace, we'll dwell.
Understanding the love we tried to make real,
A love we fought for, a heart's lasting appeal,
In a heavenly haven, our love will retell.
