So, I suppose my recent poetry has been somewhat depressing. So how about something hopeful? Something rebellious? Something with a point to get across? :) Enjoy guys. Thanks for reading.

They told me to look for Prince Charming
and you will find him
sooner, rather than later
if you look
but I told them, politely, to go fuck themselves
because I didn't want a Prince Charming
I wanted a Prince with bruises on his face
and scars, so that I could kiss it all better
I don't want perfection, fuck perfection
I'd never be happy if you were perfect
because darling, perfection is boring
and I don't like to be bored
I like the thrill of the ride
excitement, baby, excite me
make me go crazy
because I can't stay sane, tonight
They told me that my knight
would come rescue me
and help me be happy
but what if my knight
is a Knight of the Night
and he needs my assistance
rather than I needing his?
They tell little girls
to wait in your towers and comb your hair
don't leave, don't try, don't dare
let your man find you and wait for you
don't wait for him
don't do anything
that your mother wouldn't do
but I'm a rebel
so I left my tower
told the world to fuck it
and found
the man
who may just be
my man
who isn't boring
who is bruised
and has his own scars
upon his arms and chest
but I'll kiss it all better
and make him happy
someday
because I'll wait for him
and he isn't perfect
but he excites me
Fuck, I love him
my Knight of the Night.
