The rain crys slowly and steadily
and she cries all day, all night
as the lightning strikes his anger
drinking whiskey and smoking blunts
the thunder calls out in a thunderous voice
Stop!
How dare you cry about life?
How dare you waste your anger?
Don't you know that after rain
the flowers bloom bright?
Don't you know that during lightning
people stare in awe at the sky?
The rain slowly lessens with a sniffle
and the lightning slowly fades
and he puts the bottle down
and he puts his arm around
the rain and she forgets her tears
and all those years
where she'd cry
and he'd die
just a little at a time
while the thunder looks down
and doesn't make a sound
simply smiles
as the crops grow high
and the mountain stays dry
tonight.
