We finally make it to where there are trees to hide us. I look back to see if he is still following us. He is but he is getting tired. I can tell by his red puffy face. He spent all of his breath on screaming for us to stop. I'm not getting tired at all because of the adrenaline pumping through my veins.

We zig zag through the woods but we are heading for the really tall mountain-like hill. We didn't talk to each other while we are running for our free lives, but we have the same idea at reaching the top of the hill to see our surroundings and maybe we will spot a person.

We reach the foot of the hill and that is when we all start getting tired. Our pace is slowed and the hill is very steep.

I haven't looked back. I am too afraid.

We are almost up when all of a sudden I step on something.

Glass.

I stepped on glass with my bare foot. I wish my shoe didn't come off. I cry in pain but I still go on. I only put weight on my toes. I can tell a piece of glass is still in my foot.

We make it to the top of the hill and I get down on my hands and knees and that's when the others notice my foot which is bleeding uncontrollably.

"OH MY GOD!" Ivy screams and looks away. "What happened?" Ryan asks. "I-I stepped on g-glass." I say through short breaths of pain.

"Is he following?" I ask. Ivy looks down the hill. "That's strange. Where did he go. Why did he stop." I wonder the same thing but I don't question anything. I am only great full. The hill has a flat surface with very green grass. And it's high enough to see a gas station not too far from here.

I look at my foot. It looks bad. I see a big piece of glass sticking out of my right foot in the middle. I grab the glass and pull. Ryan stops me. "I am pretty sure your not supposed to pull it out" he says. "But it hurts." I say. "You could bleed out or something. I don't know. We could really use a doctor to tell us." He says. "I don't think I am going to bleed out from my foot." I say doubtfully.

I pull the glass and holding my scream by taking fast but steady breaths. I pull it nice and slow. When it comes out there was at least an inch in. We use Ryan's tie ad a wrap to lessen the bleeding.

We spot a person. She looks like she's in her 20s. She looks like a hiker.

"HELP! HELP US!" Ivy screams and gets her attention. She sees the zip ties around our wrists and rushes over immediately.
