Chapter 25 (part 1)

Just an FYI, this chapter is going to have two parts to it. So this is Chapter 25 part 1 and next chapter will be Chapter 25 part 2.

Y/n's POV:

My eyes slowly adjust to the bright room I am in as I wake up. Where am I? I try to take a deep breath, but as I do so my chest fills with a bit of pain. I slowly sit up and look around the room. It's completely white. Every square inch of it is white. There is no decoration or anything.

"Good, you're awake."

I jump a little as I hear a voice come from behind me. I slowly turn around and look at whose voice it was. When I see who is standing behind me a sharp burn fills my chest. I wince a little and put my hand over my chest.

"Don't worry, that will go away in a minute," the person says. I stare at them in shock.

"Gabi..."

"The one and only," she says with a small laugh.

I immediately stand up and look around the room we are standing in.

"What- where am I," I ask as Gabi walks around me.

"Well I'm dead and you're dead so we're in the afterlife," she says with a shrug.

"The afterlife- IM DEAD?!"

"Uh yeah... most people here are."

Panic fills my body as I try to remember everything that happened. The Kugelblitz was coming and we were all freaking out. I suddenly felt like I couldn't breathe and I had a tightening feeling in my chest. I heard someone call my name and then I blacked out. I immediately begin to panic and turn towards Gabi.

"I gotta get back! What happened to Five and the others? Did... did the Kugelblitz-"

"They're alive, they went through the tunnel. And this is only temporary."

"Why am I here? How am I here," I ask. Gabi stops walking and turns towards me.

"I wanna show you something," she says. "Do you trust me?"

"I don't know I met you like 30 seconds ago."

Gabi smiles and walks towards me.

"It's okay. Take deep breaths. You're going to go back to your family soon. But while you are here I need to show you something. Something very important to me."

I stare at Gabi for a minute before nodding my head. "What do you-"

Before I could even finish my sentence, my vision changes. I am suddenly in a completely different room. I look around and realize I have been here before. It takes me a minute but I recognize it as the Academy's medical wing.

"Gabi? How did I get here? Why am I here," I ask.

I don't get a response. Instead, I hear a noise come from behind me. I turn around and let out a small gasp at what I see. Dad was standing next to one of the medical beds in a white coat while holding a syringe. I look at the bed and when I see who was on it... I gasp again.

It's me. I'm on the bed. My body is completely still but I can see that my eyes are somewhat open meaning I'm awake.

I walk over to the side of the bed and look at my body with confusion. I'm younger. 13, maybe 14. I am wearing a hospital gown and I had horrible burn marks all over my body.

From the corner of my eye, I can see a suit hanging up. It looks like the one Dad used to make us wear when we went on missions as kids. Except, this one looks different. It's red and black.

I walk over to the suit and inspect it. It has a bunch of holes in it and it looked like it has been burned.

Realization then hits me. I'm not looking at me... I'm looking at Gabi. But how? Gabi dyed during the explosion...right? Based on the burns all over her suit and body, this is after the explosion.
