Xie Lian felt the world around him slowly turn dark, his hand weakly reaching out for Hua Cheng whose cold body laid beside him. But, it was too late. As his eyes shut, Xie Lian felt himself drift off into an eternal sleep. He couldn't help but feel tears fall, his last remaining thoughts replaying over and over in his mind as he felt his life slip away.
No... Am I dying? I... I don't want to die! I just got a happy, stable life with San Lang, Feng Xin and Mu Qing! So why... Why now!? San Lang... I don't want to leave him... Please, let me try again! Retry and have a better life! One where us 4 can be happy... Anything but this!
It hurts... It hurts so badly... San Lang, you're happy with this ending right? Don't be mad... Don't be in pain... San Lang, you made me happy... I love you, San Lang...
Darkness.
That was all Xie Lian could see, darkness everywhere. No noise, no breath, nothing.
As Xie Lian thought he was alone, he jumped at the sudden, gentle touch on his shoulder. Turning around, his eyes teared up when he realised what it was.
"You're ok... Gege, that's where you were."
"San Lang... San Lang!" Jumping forwards, Xie Lian pulled Hua Cheng into a secure hug, Hua Cheng laughing.
"Gege, I told you we're connected by fate, I won't leave you."
Then, Xie Lian watched as Mu Qing and Feng Xin made their way over from behind Hua Cheng, rushing over and pulling both of them into a tight embrace too.
"I was scared... I thought I lost you guys!" Mu Qing and Feng Xin froze, unsure whether to move away or hug back. Both looked at each other and sighed, deciding to return the hug. After a few seconds, they all moved away, Mu Qing turning away.
"Whatever, come on already, we should get going." Xie Lian raised an eyebrow.
"Where to?" Feng Xin looked at him.
"Do you want to stay here any longer? We've got another life waiting for us. Come on, we'll definitely find each other again. Once we do, I'm sure we'll remember one another." Xie Lian smiled a little, nodding.
"Alright... Hold on!" Turning around, Xie Lian ran back to Hua Cheng, pulling him down into a soft, loving kiss.
Hua Cheng was quick to return this action, both kissing for a bit, Mu Qing and Feng Xin deciding to remain quiet. After a while, Xie Lian slowly broke the kiss, holding onto Hua Cheng's hand.
"Find me, ok?" Hua Cheng smirked.
"Is this a game of hide and seek? Alright, Gege. To prove that I'll find you... What should I say to you when I do?" Xie Lian thought for a moment.
"Hm... Nothing too bold yet different enough... Maybe just compliment something about me... Maybe my clothes?" Hua Cheng nodded, heading to Mu Qing and Feng Xin.
"Clothes it is then. Come on now, let's go."
Just like that, all began to head in the same direction, bound to meet again in another life.
