Chapter 26

He was staring kriya, he badly wanted to talk to her but he don't know how to initiate, Taani looked at Rey, she saw him staring Kriya, she felt weird then something strick her, Rey too looked at her at the same, she asked through eyes, 'the same Kriya' he nodded, kriya watched their eye conversation she felt weird but shrugged it, Adi watched them, he knew she got to know about them, moved to Taani, she looked at him, hugged him tightly, he too smiled widely hugging her, kissing her forehead, he stood holding her, "chalo let's get on the dance floor" said Rishu dragging everyone, they danced, Adi and Taani were dancing lost in eachother, Rey was looking at Kriya even she was staring him, he got a call from his mom,so he moved out. He talked for sometime after ending the call, he stood there, he wants to talk to her, he want to ask her, he wanted to hold her but whether he have any right, sighing he closed his eyes. "Rey" came a voice, he was still standing with closed eyes, he know the voice, it's the same voice which would flatter his heart. Kriya saw him going out, she wanted to talk to him, she wanted to apologise to him maybe he won't forgive her but atleast her guilt will be lessen, she went behind him, she saw him standing gathering courage she called him. He turned to her, she stood at a distance, both kept looking at eachother with longing and pain, "Hmm Rey kya hum baat kar sakte hai" said Kriya breaking their eyelock, "Rey mujhe aapse maafi mangni hai, I know mera ek sorry kafi nahi hai and maaf karna nahi karna aap pe hai but you have all the right to know the truth atleast main saach bol ke apna guilt kam kar sakti ho", Rey looked perplexed, 'what truth she's talking about? Is it related to them?' he nodded to let her continue, she looked at his nod closed her eyes, then opened, "Rey I never wanted to betray you, I never wished that but mom ko humare baremein pata chala she was very disappointed, unhe mere dance karne se bhi objection tha but I was adamant so she was quiet but jaise hi unhe sab pata chala she put on a condition to choose between her and dance, you know Rey she's the only family I have, she did everything for me,how can I leave her, I was helpless I had to leave dance and immediately we came to london, I got no time to tell you everything, I'm sorry Rey for hurting you" her voice cracked at the end, her tears rolled down, Rey stood numb, he didn't imagine that she went through equal or more pain than him, he looked at her she was shivering a lil and maybe she would fall down in a nick time he held her, she looked him in his eyes even he had tears but he didn't let them fall. He wiped her tears she closed her eyes letting more tears to fall, she hugged him, she was craving for his warmth from long time, finally she let a breath, he too reciprocated caressed her back slightly, they felt the same comfort which once they had. Rey broke the hug, wiped her tears again, "Kriya you don't have to say sorry, tumhari koi galti nahi thi, the circumstances turned like that you were helpless so please stop crying", she too wiped her tears, "Rey will you forgive me", "Kriya kaisi baat kar rahi ho after knowing the truth....it's not you're fault you shouldn't be sorry infact I'm the one who should be sorry, shayad indirectly hi sahi meri wajah se you had to give up dance",she shaked her head in 'no', "nahi Rey ismein aapki koi galti nahi hai", "but Kriya you had to give up dance that too because of me, please kriya I'll talk to aunty request her to let you dance" he was feeling guilty, she held his hand "Rey relax, mom had already agreed to dance" he's face lighten up a lil, "actually Taani convinced mom, when she saw me dancing accidentally she confronted me, I shared with her, she talked to mom and mom agreed to let me dance but not let affect my studies, Taani is a gem of a girl, I'm really happy I got her as a friend infact she's my bestfriend", Kriya was talking about Tanni with a wide smile, even Rey had a smile, 'she's right, Taani is a gem of a girl', Kriya looked at him to find him smiling, then a question arised, "hmm Rey how are you connected to Aditya, I mean Rishab said about you're sister but as far I remember you didn't have any sibling" Rey stopped smiling, he got a serious expression, he thought 'what should he say?should he say about his past? yes it's better for her to know it from him than other'. He explained her what all things happened after she left, how he was broken and how Taani entered his life, their relationship, the gangs behaviour towards her, about the fake breakup, how she left him, how she got connected to Aditya and his family, his confrontation with her, her engagement, her getting hospitalized because of gang, Avni's words, he's decision of joining business and doing MBA, he's getting close to Solanki's, gang and his clash'. Kriya listened everything quietly, she felt churn in heart after hearing that he had relationship with Taani but then he wasn't to be blamed completely and that won't change anything between her and Taani, feelings arise you aren't to be judged for that. "I can't believe gang could stoop so low, I knew they were rude sometimes, I can't imagine how Taani faced everything so bravely" kriya said then looked at him, "I'm happy for you Rey, aap ne sahi kiya finally aap ne apne dil ki baat sunni, aapko hamesha se MBA karna tha or aap gang ki wajah se....." Rey looked at her shocked, "you remember", "ofcourse Rey" she smiled, they had eyelock, kriya broke it first, "hmm Rey......aap ko bura lagta hai ......I mean Taani and Aditya....."she asked a lil hesitate, she was hoping for 'no', Rey too immediately said "No I don't, infact I'm very happy for her, Kriya me and Taani didn't love eachother, yeah we liked eachother, I liked her innocence and she had a crush on me, we got in relationship thinking it as love but aisa nahi tha, even though we aren't together, she's special to me because she taught me love is selfless and most important thing because of her I got an amazing family" making her smile wholeheartedly, earlier she felt a lil insecure that maybe he still have any feelings for Taani but listening his honest confession her heart took a relief, Rey's phone ring, he saw 'Di calling', he received, "Rey kahan ho tum log kabse call kar rahi ho, Rishu bhi nahi uta raha, kar kya rahe ho, ho kahan bolna" she bombarded her questions, he shaked his head knowing, he could hear his jiju saying in the background, 'usko bolne dogi toh kuch bolega na' he chuckled "Di woh Rishab ke friends ne party raka hai toh sab yahin hai, sab andar hai music ki wajah se sunai nahi diya hoga", "ok theek hai or tumne aunty ko call kiya woh pareshan ho rahi hogi", "Haan di maine mom ko call kar diya hai or aap ki tension mat lo" "hmm theek hai" "Di woh", "tumhari baby so rahi hai subah baat kara thi ho", "ok di", "Rey now guys to need to leave soon kal tum logo ko conference attend karna hai" said Arjun, "yeah jiju theek hai" he bid them bye, he looked at Kriya, she was staring him, he looked so different, so happy, she saw his call ended, both went inside soon they retorted back to their respective places. Next day Adi and Rey attend the conference, as Arjun said it was really beneficial for Rey, he learnt lot of things and he was thankful to Adi for taking him along. After the conference, Rey wanted to meet Kriya's mom and apologised to her, he was badly regretting that he couldn't help Kriya with her problems only if he could have being a lil polite and humble to her mom then she wouldn't had any negative image of him in her mind, he asked Kriya, the address, she said him it wasn't needed and it isn't his fault yet he insisted to atleast let him so that his guilt would lessen, she too agreed. He reached her home, her mom was taken back with his visit and to her absolute shock he apologized to her very politely, she couldn't believe he's the same Rey who once seemed like a brat like his other friends, she accepted his apology and was impressed after hearing about his studies,work with that not affecting his passion, his dance. They had a light hearted conversation, kriya was happy that finally her mom getting along with him, how much she have dreamt of this day maybe things have changed but the tiny hope still resist in heart, Rey bid them bye, after seeing him off, Kriya turned to her mom, "Rey doesn't know that it's his bestfriend was behind your separation", she looked at her shocked, "mom he doesn't know and I really hope he doesn't ever come to know this truth it's better hidden", "but why Kriya, usse yeh jane ka pura haq ki uski bestfriend sharon hi thi jisni mujhe tum dono ke baremein bataya she even instigated me that you aren't focusing on your studies because of him", "mom please I know that and it's past let's not talk about it, I'm happy that Rey ki life mein itne saare acche log aagaye hai and they made him realise the true meaning of love, family and friendship" she said smiling at the end remembering his smiling face when he was talking to his Di, her mom looking at her smiling face said,"or tumhara kya Kriya, you still love him, why don't you get back to him" her smile wiped off, she went silent after thinking for sometime, "mom it's late let's sleep" she said and went off making her mom look at her helplessly. They were unware that their conversation was heard by 'Rey'. He was going back but his phone dropped down he was picking it when he heard her mom's words, that were enough for him to stand there listen to the whole conversation, he went numb knowing his bestfriend sharon was the reason for his heartbreak. He walked out disheartened, he was walking on the road aimlessly, only their words were ringing in his mind that 'sharon was behind their separation', it started raining but he was absent mindedly kept walking, suddenly a car flashed it came and stopped near him. Adi and Taani went out for dinner when they were returning they saw Rey, they walked to him, Adi stopped him keeping his hand on his shoulder, "Rey" he called out but still he didn't respond, they looked at him worried it was raining so it's better to reach home then talk, Adi took him inside in the car made him sit in the backseat, Adi started driving but kept looking at Rey, even Taani was looking at him, "Rey toh kriya ke ghar gaya tha" said adi wondering 'what might have happened', Taani looked at Adi, "let's not assume things, ghar jaa ke ek or bar puchte hai" said Taani, he nodded drive home. They reached home, Adi helped Rey to get down the car still he was numb, they entered inside, Adi asked him again, "Rey what happened? Tum aise sadak pe itni baarish mein kyu chal rahe the" he still didn't react, Taani looked at him worriedly asked, "Rey, Kriya or aapke beech kuch hua hai kya", Rey came out of his trance, "Kriya" he uttered, they both looked at eachother, "hamare beech jo tha woh katam hogaya hai or tum jaanti ho Taani kis ki wajah se hua hai" said Rey still standing numb in dry voice, "kis ki wajah se Rey" asked Taani nervously, "Sharon" said Rey, Taani gasped and Adi too looked shocked, "Sharon" Adi asked not believing, obviously how can anyone believe 'she is he's bestfriend'. "Haan Sharon, my bestfriend jispe maine sanse zyada trust kiya, she's the reason of my heartbreak, can you believe it" chuckling bitterely, "Rey are you sure I mean ho sakta hai aapko galat fehmi hui ho" said Taani still unsure, "yeah Rey maybe it's some misunderstanding" said Adi, Rey shaked his head in no, "no sir, no Taani there's no misunderstanding, koi galat fehmi nahi hui hai mujhe, maine khud sunna hai Kriya ki mom ko bolti hui that Sharon was the one who told her about me and Kriya, also she instigated her about me, ki meri wajah se Kriya is not focusing on her studies" he said in hurtful voice, they felt bad for him, he fell on his knees, Adi held him in a nick of time, he hugged him tightly, crying on his shoulder, Adi too hugged him, caressing his back, Taani stood looking at them, she knew Sharon was rude, arrogant but how could she be so heartless that she can give so much pain to her bestfriend, when she gave fake breakup idea to Rey, she thought maybe she doesn't like her because of she was non dancer but why Kriya.
Adi consoled him, took him to the room made him lay on the bed after asking him to change, he came out saw Taani still standing on the same place, "Jaan" he cupped face, she hugged him, "Rey is fine, chalo let's change" he said breaking the hug, both went and changed. Both were disturbed, Taani slept after some time, Adi got up, he had work, he stayed awake to complete his pending work.
