Chris POV

We had all been invited over to the Bennet house, Mrs Bennet wanted to have a big get together for Kia's birthday but she wanted it to be a surprise. She was excited to have her daughter home after all these years and wanted to make the most of the time she had left with her. Scott was currently on keep Kia busy duty. So myself, Carly and Shanna agreed to help set up at the house. There were balloons, banners, a chocolate fountain, lots of cakes and cookies and the bbq was lit, mr Bennet taking control
Of the cooking.

Everything looked great and I hoped Kia would enjoy this and maybe talk to me. It's been a couple of weeks since she saw me kissing Katie and heard everything and she hasn't spoken to
Me. I can understand her anger, Katie was in theory her enemy. I still wasn't sure what to do about her, if she took that letter then I would
Have to prove it and it's not like she is just going to come right out and say it. I needed to
Think of a plan.

We were all set up and Scott had text to say they were on the way. Mrs Bennet was so excited, she put so much effort into this and I'm just hoping Kia will have fun. We all stand waiting with baited breath for her to arrive. I hear Scott before I see Kia. She steps out into the garden and we shout "surprise!!!"
She jumps and places her hand over her mouth.
"Oh my god!"
Mrs Bennet walks slowly to her and hugs her close "happy birthday my baby girl"
"Oh Ma thank you"
She hugs her dad and her brother and then makes her way to my Ma.

She eventually gets to me and I don't know what to expect. She stands in front of me and smiles.
"Hi Chris"
"Hey Kia"
She takes me by surprise and wraps her arms around me. I hold her close relishing in the feel of her so close to me again. She pulls away and smiles as me once "thank you for helping with this"
"Your welcome. I also got your favourite cookies" I point over to the table and she lets out a giggle "seriously Chris thank you"
I nod and she hurries over to the table taking a good handful of cookies. I can't help but laugh, she always tried to eat as many as she could because they were Scott's favourites too.

I notice my Ma come and stand next to me "you still love that girl christopher"
"Very much so"
She places her hand on my shoulder and gives it a gentle squeeze "then maybe you should tell her before it's too late. She won't be here forever chris"
I nod and my Ma kisses my cheek and walks over to Mrs Bennet. I know she's right but I can't just jump back in with Kia. We have things to work through and that's means friendship has to come first.
