Hello, guys!

Thank you so much for reading this!

JeffBarcode made me go back to writing after a long hiatus, and I hope I can convey how much I love these two through my story.

For who's arriving now, welcome and I hope you enjoy the ride!

Me and @jesuisjassi would love to know your opinions on the story in the comments!

Thank you so much and enjoy!

"Hia." Jesse knocks lightly on Jeff's bedroom door. "Shouldn't you be on your way to the company?

"Hmm." It's all Jeff mutters.

Without even opening his eyes, Jeff finds himself in that stage where he cannot fully wake up, although he's aware of his surroundings. At least that's how it feels when he hears his brother approaching the bed.

"Hia." Jesse calls again. "Is everything okay?"

This time he doesn't answer. He feels Jesse pulling the duvet down a little bit but he makes no effort to get it back.

"Hia has been sleeping for a long time, are you feeling well?"

Nothing.

Jeff falls asleep again, and while it looks like he's in a deep sleep, he's restless and aware of his surroundings. He thinks he hears his brother leaving the room and even turns over in bed, but he can't wake up. He just pulls the duvet over his head again.

His body is heavy and his head is wandering somewhere between unconsciousness and vivid dreams. There are moments when he sees himself getting out of bed and starting his morning routine, but then he finds himself asleep again. At other moments he dreams of rereading Barcode's last messages. Then meeting him in the studio. And then he goes back to sleep again. It's all very confusing.

He can't seem to find the strenght to wake up and get out of bed. His body is sweaty and, deep down, he knows that his brother turned off the air conditioning in an attempt to wake him up with the heat. At one point, he thinks he goes back to the vivid dreams stage because he thinks he has turned the device back on, just as he hears Barcode's voice nearby. And this time the image of him doesn't go away somewhere in his restless sleep.

Jeff opens his eyes with great difficulty and takes a while to focus them on the image in front of him. Sitting on the edge of his bed, there is Barcode with his big, worried eyes turned towards himself. Is he dreaming again?

"P'Jeff, wake up."

Jeff hears him ask softly and frowns, his eyes still half-closed. Confused, he checks his surroundings as far as his eyes can reach without having to move, and finds his brother watching him. The confusion remains, but he gradually feels his body and mind awakening when he hears the voice of the one closest to him again.

"P'Jeff, we're worried. Wake up."

And it's not just his voice that pulls him out of the weird place he's in. Barcode brushes Jeff's hair away from his face with his fingertips and then runs them down his neck, shoulder and arm, sending electrical signals to his body wherever he touches it, all the way to his hand. By the time he holds his hand tight, Jeff is almost awake.

"Barcode." His voice comes out hoarse and he closes his eyes as he clears his throat. "What are you doing here?"

"P'Jesse thought it would be a good idea for me to come."
