"so these guys are chill right?" james asks, sittng in the driver seat.
"uh- nick and chris are super nice, but matt can be... moody," julia says knowing matt already will hate seeing james with her after past experiences.
"ok, stay clear of matt. got it," he jokes, tapping his fingers on the steering wheel.
she pulls a fake smile across her mouth and stares out her window, not talking the whole drive, her thoughts are loud enough. james and julia eventually pull up outside the triplet's apartment and hop out the car.
james grasps julia's hand and interlocks their fingers, causing julia to look down. she looks up at him, to see he isn't even looking at her. she knows that if it was matt, he would've been smiling not dropping eye contact, but james didn't do that. she let out a quiet sigh, before opening the door and walking in, "we're here!" she called out.
