What the hell had just happened?
One minute I was looking up at the screen and watching that too sexy for words woman being totally ignored and rejected by the asshat beside her.
Then Lewis elbowed me, saying something about how embarrassing that must be.
Before my brain could catch up, my body was in motion, spotting her in the crowd and jogging towards the edge of the pitch, determined to reach her.
It took a minute before the crowd realised what I was doing and then they went wild. On the big screen, her pretty face frowned in confusion. Then her eyes fell on me and I very nearly lost my balance and ended up tumbling back down the steps.
Even from here, I could see their vivid green and her pouty lips parted in surprise.
And that kiss? It was well worth the telling off the trainers and my managers would almost certainly be giving me after the match.
As I jogged back down to the pitch, I knew one thing was for sure: I had to see her again.
