Peter was upset to say the very least. He had been sad all day he had been laying in bed not being able to find the motivation to get up. Wade had gone on patrol promising to come back home in a few hours. It had already been a few hours he should be back home any minute.

Peter felt a tinge of guilt in the back of his head. He had missed patrol what if Wade got hurt or needed him? Peter was being sad doing nothing except staring at the ceiling or crying. Maybe New York needed Spiderman maybe someone would die if he didn't-

Peter's thought were interrupted by the door to he house opening. It slammed against the wall hard. Most people would jump and think it was a intruder trying to rob the place. Peter was different the sound actually got him to smile slightly for the first time today. Wade's door opening was just as obnoxious and familiar as the rest of him.

Peter had looked at the date that morning and had instantly shut down. It was exactly one year since aunt May died. Peter had tried to forget he had for a while throwing himself into any Daily Bugle jobs he could find or patrolling so much that Wade had to carry him home so he could rest.

"Hey, wheres my favorite spider?" Wade asked as he walked into the house. Peter heard him shrug off his katanas and throw his mask somewhere on the floor. Peter shook his head fondly he never could get Wade no matter how many times he told him to not just chuck his gear everywhere when he got home.

"I'm in the bedroom." Peter said it wasn't as loud as it should be his voice was quiet and subdued. Wade must have heard it though since he heard his footsteps coming down the hallway. Wade's footsteps were loud he didn't try to conceal them at home like he did on missions.

"I would say kinky but I suppose you aren't in the mood." Wade said he was hoping to get a chuckle out of Peter like that comment usually did. Instead he got silence which worried the man even more. "Aw, Peter you still not feeling well?" Wade asked concerned.

Peter knew Wade would understand a lot of people un his life were dead. But he couldn't help but feel like May's death was his own fault like he did so many other people's. Peter didn't want to worry Wade so he had told him simply that he was sick.

Wade being the caring person he was had even bought lots of different medicines which he had brought into the room with him. "Um, Wade I'm not sick. I'm sorry I lied I just didn't want to worry you that much. Someone needed to go on patrol and I didn't want to hold you back by making you worry about me." Peter confessed he felt more awful than he already did.

"Hey, hey it's okay. You don't have to tell me about why you need to stay home. I get it we all have days where it feels better to sit in bed and cry ate ice cream and watch Golden Girls reruns." Wade said shrugging he wouldn't admit it but he did feel a little bad that Peter hadn't told him what was really making him upset.

Wade supposed it was none of his business if Peter didn't want him to know. But it still stung a little since Peter knew everything about him. Nightmarish childhood story maybe the correct version or not he didn't know. The details changed a little with each retelling and even the torture Weapon X put him threw Peter was told about.

"That's oddly spefic." Peter said Wade finally managed to get a smile out of him. Wade put aside his own feelings he needed to take care of Peter. Besides when he was ready he was sure Peter would tell him.

"That's because it it is anyways how about I make you a slice of your favorite type of pie? Would that cheer you up a little? We all know I make mean pie that knocks you socks off." Wade said he puffed out his chest in pride.

When May was alive she had absolutely loved Wade. She had even taught him how to make her secret recipe cherry pie. He almost had it down to from the flavor to the crust. Peter nodded solemnly but he wouldn't mind it aunt May always made him cherry pie when he was upset. It was his favorite food she made.

"Yes, that would be amazing thank you Wade." Peter said he was about to get up when Wade suddenly picked him up. Peter let out a surprise noise that Wade laughed at. Peter relaxed into his boyfriend's strong arms and he allowed himself to be carried. He was upset enough he didn't protest and it was even a little comforting.

Wade sat Peter down at the table. Peter watched Wade as he worked. "I can tell your concerned about why I'm upset." Peter said he saw that Wade was uncharacteristically quiet for him he also kept glancing at Peter over his shoulder.

"I am. But you don't have to tell me if you aren't ready or never want to." Wade said he said it genuinely and that made Peter want to hug him he was being kind and understanding in a way Peter had never seen with another human before.

"It's my aunt May. This was the day she was killed by you know who." Peter said he tensed up as soon as he remembered his laughter.

"Oh, I'm sorry Peter. But uh it's done here you go." Wade said he placed the pie down in front of Peter with a fork. Wade was also wearing his pink kiss the cook apron. Peter couldn't help but do what it told him to do he stood up and kissed Wade on the cheek.

"Man I should make you more pie if I get treated like this." Wade said grinning goofily. Peter shook his head fondly he took a bite of the pie and his eyes widened. It tasted exactly like his aunt May's. He felt tears gather in the corners of his eyes except this time it was happy ones.
