LABYRINTH OF ARCADIA. (PART - IV)

Gilbert did not forget what happened to knight Ronald when he was just a bit near the blood red flower before. He instinctively felt an impending danger as he watched some of his weak-willed knights approaching the seelie tree with a indescribable look of covetousness.

Immediately he ordered the others, “Stop them this instant. That tree is dangerous!”

With his direct orders, the veteran shadow knights assembled and rush forth to drag their comrades away from the seelie hollow tree, but for some of them, it was all too late.

The moment the enchanted knights touched the seelie hollow tree, a horrifying sight came into play.

As if the seelie hollow tree was alive, it sucked in the two enthralled knights into it’s hugh stout bark and assimilated them into itself, leaving only their captivated looks behind on the surface of its barks, as if they had suddenly been turned to wooden statues curved into the tree.

Everything happened so suddenly that everyone present could not take any actions to save the two bewitched people. And when they stood stunned speechless where they stood, two wooden whip-like tentacles suddenly grew out of under the shining seelie tree and grabbed hold on to the few knights who had rushed forward to help the people who were previously enchanted by the tree.

Gilbert was so shocked that his scalp was going numb. Who could tell him why the beautiful golden seelie hollow tree turned into a monster that bewitched people’s mind and swallowed them whole without even spitting out the bones?

In a maddening haze, Gilbert rushed towards the seelie-hollow tree and under the numerous tentacle attacks of the tree, he forced his way through and with a pair of magical uphimia gloves that Reuben had casually shoved into his arms before, he brutally tore off the golden topaz-like shining seed embedded in the seelie hollow out of the tree barks.

And all of a sudden, all the activities in the clearing stop as if time itself had decided to halt. Gilbert looked awkwardly at the lightly pulsating golden seed in his hand, and in a sheepish manner raise his head to look around to see the dumbfounded look on the faces of his men. He really did not want to harm the divine tree, but this tree was also at fault. If it didn’t treat the lot of them as its immediate fertilizer, he wouldn’t have to take such a drastic measure. In the face of death, even the divine heavens don’t get into one’s eyes, what is a divine tree compared to that?

The very next second, everything around them started wilting at a lightening speed, as if the vitality that was energizing them was suddenly rooted out, and now they had no other way except for withering into the dust as their lives sipped out of their tangible bodies.

Gilbert could very well guess that the seelie hollow tree was the one responsible for reviving this entire place, and the energy for revitalizing this plane was coming from the very golden seed that he had just torn off it’s barks. But he too felt helpless. What else was he supposed to do when this divine tree was only tree-friendly, not animal-friendly?

However, when he finally thought that this was all over, his men started to drop off like comatose flies under the assault of a bug spray.

The corner of his lips could not help twitching when he realized what was going on now.

This was the aftermath of the explosion. Previously, when the explosion happened, the blood red flower wilted and the seed of the blood red flower took root into the tree barks of the seelie hollow, which not only energized the vivacity of this labyrinth, but also purified the environment around them. Which ceased the chemical magic which was supposed to be the aftereffect of this terrible explosion.
