Once upon a time

On one of the beautiful days of Summer little sam was with her closest cousin

Who she loved, and was proud of her, Sam thought her cousin was the actual coolest person on earth

She loved the way she talked
The way the two of them used to dance and fight for fun.

Her cousin came back to there hometown every summer and winter

And Sam used to count all of the days till they came back

She used to clean up her house and put on clean and nice clothes so that her aunt and cousin admire and like her more.

Sam still remembers how happy she was when her cousin asked for help with her homework

And whenever she left, Sam would cry that day because she would've missed her cousin for the entire year

Time passed and little Sam grew

Until their grandmother died

And her aunt decided not to come home anymore, because of the grief of her mother's death.

Sam got sad that month twice a time

First was because she lost her beloved nana

The second was because the summer breaks weren't the same without her cousin.

But Sam was never a negative person

She didn't break the connection with her cousin, nevertheless, she tried to call each month so that they talk and stay in touch

But what Sam didn't know

"Not everyone has the same thoughts as we do"

In the first year everything was normal they used to talk and laugh as usual

In the second when Sam used to call, Her cousin said "oh sorry I was busy"

Sam understood and didn't call again

So she tried texting instead of calling

But her cousin said
"Sorry can't talk right now gotta go"

Sam didn't bother her cousin, telling herself
'she is too busy for me to disturb her

Then years passed until her aunt decided to come back

Sam couldn't be happier, but she didn't show that happiness

But did what little Sam used to do

Clean the house and wear nice clothes

And when they came back the first day

Sam said 'my cousin will come any time now

She waited till 11 pm

But she didn't show up

Until one day her aunt called and said we will come to visit

Sam was thrilled

And when they came she went to hug her cousin immediately

Sam was happy, she thought everything is going to be just the same, all the fun times they'll be spending together again, she couldn't be happier.

But like I said before

"Not everyone has the same thoughts as we do."

Her cousin didn't sit next to Sam that day

And she visited only once

As well she left that year without even saying goodbye to her.

Sam was sad, she couldn't understand why suddenly everyone and everything changed.

They came back again next year
And treatment between Sam and her cousin got even colder

With time
Sam understood.

People grow, and some of them change.

Maybe they changed the way they used to think and see other people

But what made Sam sad, was seeing her cousin lying to her, hiding the truth from her, as well ignoring her.

So Sam decided to not text or call her cousin anymore, both of them grew and have their path now, which was very different.

Sam is not sad now, instead she learned a lesson from this friendship.

If someone really cares about you they will text first

Even if they didn't text or call, they reply in the best ways even if it was late.

If someone really cared about you, they'll come to you first.

My mom used to say
"Love is not by force, except what everyone gives, and don't complain if it was not as much as you gave, because it was your choice to give a certain amount of love, and it's their choice to give as much as they want."

So the moral of the story

If you saw someone close to you change, and was not the same as they used to be

Don't force your love on them, that will only make them leave even more.

Give spaces, and be a light weighted company for everyone.

And if someone changes with you don't hate on them, I know it hurts, but you be the good guy, simply give them what they want

And you continuing on living your life.

Because people come and go

It's not a one or two-person thing.

No, everyone you love one day will leave sooner or later, it's just the way life is.

So we can't spend the rest of our lives grieving on everyone

Live the sadness as much as it should be

Because sadness is part of living as well

And the ones that left us, are doing as well

So
Why shouldn't we?
