Light and Darkness

A long time ago, in the Enchanted Forest...

After trying to work with Maleficent, Ursula and Cruella in order to find a way to stop the Evil Queen Regina from casting her curse and learning they are expecting a baby who might end up a villain, Snow White and Prince Charming decide to seek answers chasing down a unicorn

"Snow, I know you're worried about Maleficent's predictions-" started David, but was interrupted by Snow

"Aren't you? If she's right our child could end up with a dark heart"

"Or it could grow to be a powerful hero" replied David "She said that too. And who's to say we can even trust her?"

But Snow wasn't convinced "Let's find out" she said, as they finally found what they were looking for. In the middle of a clearing in the forest was a white unicorn eating peacefully. "According to legend" said Snow as she offered the animal an apple "all we have to do is touch its horn and we'll get a glimpse of our child's future"

Both husband and wife touched the unicorn's horn together, but each received a different vision. While David saw two happy and sweet babies in a small bassinet on the floor, Snow watched as her teenage daughters ripped out her heart and crushed it, ignoring her pleas as their mother:

         "Look at you" said Snow in her vision as she saw her daughters smiling at her "you're both so beautiful"

Suddenly, the vision changed. The sky turned dark as one of the girls reached her hand towards Snow, taking her heart

"Ah" gasped Snow. "What are you doing? Please, I'm your mother"

The girl holding the heart looked at Snow with a blank face and answered her "I don't care"

         In that moment, the other girl took the heart and crushed it

As David woke from his vision, he smiled "Snow, it's all right. We're gonna have two beautiful babies. Snow?" He turned to his wife as her vision ended "Did you see? Our children are gonna be just fine" he was still smiling, but Snow's face looked nothing like her husband's. Her face showed fear instead of happiness "No, no they're not. They're gonna be evil" she said

As they were making their way back home, David was trying to get his wife to tell him what she had seen

"Snow, you have to tell me, what did you see?" he pleaded

"No" was her answer "saying it out loud would make it too... real. We just have to find a way to help our children, save their future"

At that moment, they met a peddler whose cart was stuck on the road

"Pardon me but a hand, please" the man said "I'm having trouble with my wagon. I'm afraid it's a bit stuck"

"Here, allow me" offered David

"Sorry, it's heavy" the man apologized "overloaded with trinkets. I'm a peddler, but apparently not a very good one" he chuckled. With David's help, the man was finally able to move the wagon back to the road

"Oh! Just needed a little elbow grease. Thank you" he said and then he shuddered "huh, it's colder than a witch's... foot out here, isn't it?

David pulled out a bottle from his satchel and offered it to the man "here, some Brandy. It'll warm you on your journey"

The man accepted the bottle "I never turn down Brandy. You're too kind" he took a drink "Mm, kind of nutmeg-y"

Snow chuckled "Keep it. Good luck to you then" She and David turned to continue their way but the man spoke again
