Esthirant, Empire of Parpaldia

Remille was busy filling out a report about America's laws. She let out a sigh as it was unusually boring. Usually, being head of the Foreign Affairs Audit Bureau means that she gets to audit foreign laws to fit the needs if the Empire of Parpaldia. However, this was different. Emperor Ludius had strictly forbade any such moves as he deemed America as a potentially powerful nation, which is rare, she too wasn't expecting Emperor Ludius to suddenly be so catious.

If Remille was to be completely honest, she didn't know what to think about this entire situation. For a nation to suddenly emerge out of the uncivilized regions fielding aircraft and advanced weaponry is practically unheard of. However, she did agree that having so many similar accounts from observers mean that something has to be going on there. However, the extent of such things is unknown to her.

Emperor Ludius truly is wise. Any other ruler from the Third civilization area today might have barged into the situation without much consideration, thought Remille. That just made her more fond of him. She still dreams of marrying him. Unfortunately, unless the geneologist decides that they would be a good match to breed the purest of the nobles, tough luck.

Took her a while before she could snap out of her fantasies. A noise came out from outside the window. She instinctively knew what it was. Opening the window, she saw four steam aircraft fly by in the formation of a "V". She still loved seeing these aircraft. Despite first making an appearance when she was only a kid, they still fascinated her till this day.

A symbol of Parpaldia's great advance. It was no match for Mu or Holy Milishial Empire, but eventually Parpaldia would catch up to those two. At least, that was Remille's mindset. The clock in her office showed that it was almost time for her to leave the office and head back. She never did like the idea that her office was separate from Paradis Palace.

Remille opened her drawer to pull out a firearm. It was a Honourdelver and Coalhood revolver. Not something you usually find a with a noble woman. Most of them only carry a small overcoat pistol, if they even carry one since most of them rely on bodyguards anyway. For them, a H&C revolver was far too bulky and brutish compared to the small, easily conceled, single-shot overcoat pistol.

However, those idiots never had to work outside of Paradis Palace. Even with bodyguards, Remille still carried her own weapon. It wasn't concealed, but it told anybody who thinks about messing around "Don't fuck with this lady". Also, her revolver was ornately engraved, which in her eyes, was fairly beautiful.

There's another reason why she carried a revolver around. Just two days ago, a laborers protest broke out just two blocks away. Remille couldn't care less about the laborers, but she is still nobility, and that could be a problem.

Remille loaded the revolver, leaving one of the six chambers empty to avoid accidental discharge. She walked up to the carriage, flanked by her bodyguards. Will getting on, she wondered if steam power would eventually create horseless carriages. Of course, she wasn't some dwarven engineer, so she decided to brush off any ideas for now. Perhaps someday, something like this would come out.

Esthirant Naval Base, Empire of Parpaldia

Leeta did not really like the diplomatic mission she was going on. She was a part of the 3rd Foreign Affairs Office, barbarians usually come to them, not the other way around. At least she would be headed there in a navy warship. Since it was outside the civilised regions, she wasn't expecting even an old wooden ship-of-the-line, needless to say ironclads.
