You awoke to Corvus walking over the bridge of your nose.

You batted him away.

It was early, the sun barely peaking over the horizon.

You yawned and hauled yourself out of bed, slipping into your uniform.

Simple black trousers, crisp white loose shirt, and a deep green cloak.

You gasped at the sight of your mask.

It was jet black, and in the shape of a raven's beak.

What stood out was the beautiful green veins decorating the entirety of it.

You clasped it at the back of your head, inspecting yourself in the gold gilded mirror that stood in the corner of your room.

With Corvus perched on your shoulder, you really looked the part.

The Mage of Mischief.

"Wow. Seems I've got some luck after all." You grinned.

Immediately after, you tripped over your own feet and smashed your shoulder on the corner of the bed frame.

Picking yourself up, you winced in pain.

"Nope. Still unlucky."

You walked aimlessly through the hallways.

You had no clue where you were headed.

Corvus squawked in agitation as you turned yet another random corner.

He was quickly silenced as you went smashing straight into someone.

You plummeted to the ground on top of them.

Quickly, you rolled away.

"Sorry, sorry! Really sorry! I didn't know I was going so fast!" You apologised, blindly pulling the person to their feet.

"Oh, it's you. Hi." You said.

It was the Golden Guard.

He brushed himself off.

"It is. I've been looking for you, you weren't in your room."

You shuffled awkwardly.

"Yeah, um, I wasn't sure wether I was to wait for you or..." you said.

"It's ok. Belos has a mission prepared already. We're to spy on the Owl Lady and her acquaintances." He shrugged.

"Right. Right, let's go then!" You cheered. "Wait... how?"

He put a gloved hand to his mask, and sighed.

You followed him out into the courtyard, the crisp morning air barely penetrating your cloak.

"We fly." He said, readying his staff.

"Oh, I can't..."

"Get on." He instructed.

Obediently, you climbed on behind him.

He tilted it backwards and you went soaring into the sky.

You gasped at the sudden incline and grabbed his waist.

Immediately regretting it, you pulled your arms away, laughing with embarrassment.

"It's ok, hold on if you need to." He said over the wind.

"Why are you like... nice to me? People say you're a mega jerk."

He flinched. "We have to get along."
