You entered this world
For the first time.
I promise you I will take
Thousands of pictures.
I will write you thousands of words.
I will remember every detail for you
So that if you ever want to know
You only have to ask.
That's what big sisters do.
And I'll tell you.
I'll tell you how you screeched
Like a terodactyl.
I'll tell you how yellow your skin was
From the jaundice.
I'll tell you how long it took to finally have you home for more than a night.
I'll tell you every insignificant bit.
Because it is significant.
Every memory is significant.
And I will give you those moments to Cherish forever.
Because that's what big sisters do.
