Dear future daughter,

When it's late at night and you're all alone, do not be afraid to come to me. When you feel like the world is crashing all around you, do not feel like I will ignore you. Come to me. Come to me when you are tired, or scared, or lonely or desperate for love. Come to me before you press that blade to your skin as I did. Come to me before you cry yourself to sleep, and when you wake up screaming. I can't tell you the world is always beautiful, but I will tell you that my hand is always here for you to hold. And when you are hurting, I'll grab the keys and we'll drive til the skies turn fiery orange and you forget all the pain. We'll drive, you and I, til the only thing left in your mind is how much I love you. I refuse to be blind to your pain, and I refuse to believe that ignoring your sufferings will make them go away, as my parents have done to me. So come to me, my dear. And let me hold you when all the lonely nights and all the anxieties have become to hard to bear. Let me console you through the nightmares. And I will be your mother, the mother I never got to have.

Love,
your future mother
