By the time Leoni got back to the throne room there were only 4 warriors left. The blonde nodded to her father letting him know the situation had been handled before walking to Indra's side
"Fio will be a great loss" Leoni said

"Octavia is doing well" Indra changed the subject rapidly

"Yes. Because she fights for more than just one clan" Leoni hinted. Indra looked at her commander in confusion. Leoni tapped the side of her nose before walking out onto the balcony to watch the fight beneath her beside Gaia.

"They seem to be forming an alliance" Gaia said to Leoni

"Hmm" Leoni mused thinking back to her conversation with Roan
"He's got more brains than it looks" Leoni nodded.

"Heda...do you remember us?" Gaia asked suddenly turning to face the girl

"Yeah" Leoni nodded
"Before you joined the order. I really considered you my own" Leoni smiled sadly at the memories of her Trikru childhood

"We were...well we were friends weren't we" Gaia nodded slowly

"We still are. Just forgotten ones. And the best thing about forgotten things is that it's only a matter of time until you remember" Leoni winked and linked her pinky with Gaia's

"Thank you Leok." Gaia nodded, teary eyed and clearly afraid. The two girls looked back at the battle field where Roan and Luna had begun to face off. Leoni leaned her elbows on the railing and dropped her head into her hands. Watching the battle as though it was a car crash you just couldn't not watch

"I let my sister die" Leoni said to Gaia
"The only one left" Leoni's voice began to shake
"Last of my family" she said. Her gaze was stuck on Luna, desperately savouring every last second of her existence. Leoni watched as Octavia approached from behind Luna and both her and Roan began to attack the once peaceful Natblida

"The last three" Gaia observed

"They're teaming up on her" Leoni worried as she begun to crack her knuckles. Luna seemed to hold her own against the two warriors but that made sense seeing as Luna had been trained for fighting in this environment since before she could reach the top shelf, same as Leoni. That's what worried her the most. No matter how good Octavia was Leoni was always better and Leoni had the same training as Luna. Roan needed to pull through. Two good warriors against one great one was just about even. Roan had Luna on her back and was about to deliver the last blow. Leoni held her breath but just then lightning erupted and black rain started to pour. Gaia instantly stepped back into the covered part of the balcony but Leoni stayed put. The colour of her blood saved her from such things. She watched as Octavia ran for shelter and Roan stumbled in the burning water. They continued fighting, Roan now weaker than Luna but the man managed to cough up all his strength and get the woman at knife point

"No" Leoni whispered through the rain. She knew Luna would die she just wanted to delay it as long as possible. Just as Roan was about to strike Luna spun out of his grip and cuffed the back of his shirt holding him down in the water fountain. Leoni didn't know wether to be relived or petrified that Octavia would be the one who had to kill Luna but at least they were both alive for now. Luna held Roan under the water drowning him until his last breath and he stopped struggling. Leoni nodded at the fact. It had happened. Roan was gone. She'd promised he would die and here it was. Luna looked up to Leoni through the rain. They were the only two out in it. The only two in the whole world out in the rain. Luna lifted two fingers to her mouth kissing them and then holding them out to Leoni who returned the gesture. For a second it was the two of them watching each other through the howling wind and lashing rain. But seconds were only seconds. Luna nodded before running off. Leoni watched as the rain fell down. Memorise of her childhood with Luna ran wildly in her head. She silently begged to go back to that time as she watched Roan's lifeless body float in the water
"The darkness will fade" Leoni whispered
"It will fade" she tried to convince herself by saying it over amd over again. She didn't know how long she'd been standing there until doors behind her burst open. Leoni turned around to see a blood covered Octavia walking in holding the tags of all 12 champions. They locked eyes across the room. Both gazes dark. Octavia dropped the chains at Gaia's feet while Leoni walked into the room, soaking wet from black rain. Her hair tangled and damp. Her eyes searched the tags, counting as she went. When they landed on the Flokru symbol Leoni lost her footing and fell to her knees. She picked up the chains, untangling them until she held Luna's. She ran her fingers across the black blood that had dried in on the cool metal
"Luna" Leoni whispered in grief. She thumbed the Flokru logo as tears gathered in her eyes.
