Harper

I woke up the following day feeling a little lost, I didn't know what to do with myself. Usually Harry and I would talk and cuddle in the morning, but this morning I felt empty, like a part of me was missing.

My cousin's had asked to have Sienna for the day today, I explained that she's no longer infectious but unable to attend nursery yet so they wanted for take her to London Zoo, I wanted to go with but I had bigger fish to fry.

Today is Tuesday which only means one thing: lunch with Edie.

After making myself and Sienna breakfast I try to FaceTime Harry but he doesn't answer, I then get Sienna ready and nicely dressed and by the time she has finished crying about wearing tights she is looking beautiful as always and my cousins arrive.

I then get myself ready, checking my phone for the time to see I have a text from Harry.

Hiii babe just landed, sorry I missed your FaceTime, can you FaceTime now? .xxx

I quickly head to FaceTime and click his name, it starts to connect and eventually his smiley face appears.

"Hey you,"

"Hey you," I pout. "I miss you,"

"Honestly, I feel so homesick right now."

I swallow sitting on my bed. "Where are you?"

"Bogotà, Colombia."

I roll my eyes. "I know that, I mean where are you like sitting?"

"Oh," He laughs laying back onto a bed. "Hotel room, we've got one each though and I feel really weird being alone, I don't like it."

"It was weird waking up without you,"

"How is Sienna?"

"She's okay, she's out with my cousins for the day,"

"Did she stop crying when I left?"

"Eventually, we made cupcakes and it distracted her but every so often she'd remember and get a little upset, it'll take some time."

"It was so hard to leave, I kept contemplating turning around and staying another day but.."

"It would only have been harder," I comment.

"Yeah," He sighs.

"I'm meeting Edie for lunch,"

"Oh yeah. That's today isn't it,"

"Yeah. I'm going to confront her,"

"Be my little warrior okay?"

I smile. "Of course,"

"I'll let you go, I need to sleep. Keep me updated and I'll try to FaceTime you again later with Sienna, yeah?"

"Yeah," I smile. "Bye,"

"Bye babe,"

. . .

"Apparently the bagels here are amazing," Edie comments as we both look through our menus.

"It's okay, I'm actually okay with just a smoothie,"

"You're not eating?"

I shake my head. "I've got plans."

It's true, on my way here Gemma, Harry's sister had text me to invite me for lunch and I couldn't pass that so I decided a smoothie and a confrontation was all I needed to have with Edie.

"Oh,"

"Yeah.. Harry's sister and I are meeting for food."

"Oh.. okay,"

"You remember Jaison, right?"

Edie eyes me suspiciously, her body language becoming defensive and timid all at the same time. "Um, of course I do.."

"Right, now would you remember him because he was my first ever boyfriend and the father to my daughter, or because you slept with him?"

Edie's eyes meet mine and I wasn't quite sure what it was that was in them; guilt, pain, sadness.. it was all mixed.

"I.. you know?"

"Oh he told me," I laugh but it was by no means humourous. "I was pretty shocked, but imagine my face when I also found out you slept with Harry too."

This time her complexion paled. "Harper I.."

"I'm not bothered about Harry. But why Jaison? Why? You're my best friend, you've always been my best friend. You know everything about me, why would you possibly go and do that?"

"I don't know,"

I scoff. "You don't know? You jump into bed with my ex, and you don't know?!"

"It just happened, he needed someone and I just.. it just.. we made an agreement and.."

"Wait, wait. How.. how many times did you sleep with him?"

With the way her eyes left mine and cast down to the table I knew what it was.

"You.. it went on for months, didn't it?" I just about whisper.

"I tried to end it but-"

"You couldn't help yourself?" I spat.

"I just.."

"This is the ultimate betrayal, I don't know how I can.. if I can.." I shake my head grabbing my bag. "I never want to see your face ever again,"

With that I leave the bistro and head for the tube station texting Gemma I was going to be a tad bitt early to lunch.

. . .

My mum was round this evening, I'd invited her for dinner and so Sienna could give her her cupcakes.

Lunch with Gemma was fun and totally stress free, I totally forgot all about Edie. After lunch we met her friend Krystal and went shopping.

I was stopped a few times in the street, sometimes by girls who wanted photos with Gemma but we both kindly declined.

Sienna had had a nice day at the zoo, she came back with a lion teddy for herself and a giraffe one for me as they're my favourite animals.

"So how are you and Harry?" My mum and I were sat in the living room having a cupcake and tea, Sienna had fallen asleep quite quickly but I guess five hours at a zoo can do that to you..

"We're great, he's in Colombia for tour now,"

"Wow,"

"I know,"

"You're both getting quite settled and happy.."

"Yeah, it's been four months now, we're pretty good, we have just.. an easy relationship, and he loves Sienna so much."

"I know he does," She smiles.

"His mum is lovely, you need to meet her, you'd get on well."

"I will at your wedding.."

I roll my eyes. "No wedding bells just yet mum,"

"Not yet but possibly?" She winks.

I shrug. "Who knows, we don't really plan we just do, I'm happy with where we're at right now."

"Can you see yourself marrying Harry?" She sips her tea.

"In all honesty.. yeah, yeah I can. I can see us living together, and Sienna running around our new garden.. I could see us getting married maybe, but right now, right here.. I just want to enjoy life."

"Of course, I just want you happy,"

I smile. "Thanks mum,"

It was right here in this moment that I realised I had everything I needed, and wanted. I was happy, truly happy.

And I was okay with that.
