When Aaron came, he found me in my room getting changed, and because he is a gentleman he apologized and turned away but I reminded him that he is going to see more of it in the next hours.

He sat down with me and he took over braiding my hair, because I dared to complain that my hands were getting too tired to do it myself. And not just braids but Dutch braids.

This man has some skilled hands...

"Where did you learn that?" I ask

"I'm going to have a daughter" he answers and I smile.

7 hours later, I moved only 2 cm which means that I have 4 more to go. Every new contraction feels worse and longer than the previous one even though they are all about a minute long and the 5 minutes apart between them feel too short.

I am just trying not to cry, at least for now, and contain my groans as much as I can.

I am currently sitting on a bouncy ball and being fed ice chips by Aaron.
"Let go" he says as I try to swallow another groan

"No, if I let go now, it will be much worse later and I have 4 more cm" I explain.

"Can I try something?" he asks

"Feed me first" I say and he does.

Then he gets up and takes his chair behind me. He starts massaging my lower spine causing me to moan in relief
"That's the spot?" he asks

"Oh yes..." I moan.

"Didn't oxytocin relieve any of the pain?" he asks as he continues to massage me

"Not really. And if it did, it's not enough to be noticeable" I say

"How bad is it?" he asks

"Bad..." I answer.

He pulls me back, letting me lay my back against his chest and my head on his shoulder.

"Wow, this brings our 'only professional' relationship to a whole other level" I say

"And you realize that now?" he asks causing me to chuckle.
"Just keep thinking that you are strong, you got this and because of that we'll get to meet our baby girl soon" he reminds me

"I know... I can feel her coming down, like a ball that I'm guessing is her head between my legs and a little higher. I'm not gonna lie, it is uncomfortable but I prefer to focus on that rather than the pain. However..." I groan as another contraction starts. He keeps massaging my lower back with one hand and holds my hand with the other.
"It is hard to ignore it" I add.
"I can't do it for 14 more hours..." I say exhausted

"It won't be 14 hours" he says

"Yes, it will. I moved only 2 cm in 7 hours and I have 4 more to go. And with a contraction every 3 to 5 minutes, it means 168 to 280 contractions at least... I can't..." I say and I groan in pain

"Yes, you can. You heard what the doctor said, the last cm go faster, about 1-1.5 cm every 30 minutes so you're getting there, it's almost over" he reminds me

"And then I have to push... That... I... I don't know if I..." I say as I try to catch my breath

"Yes, you can" he insists holding my hand tighter.

In the next check, we were informed that I made it to 8 cm and my water finally broke. But the contractions became stronger, closer together and regular. My legs started cramping, my back was killing me and I was feeling nauseated. The doctor said that all of those symptoms are normal and that we shouldn't be worried.
