Hiccup's POV:
"I'm sorry for not telling you sooner I was leaving, and..." I hesitate "I'm sorry for not telling you sooner that I like you" I say in one breath, and the most unexpected thing happened, Astrid leaned in and kissed me. It was a quick kiss. Once she pulled away she dipped her head down in what seemed like embarrassment

"I-I'm sorry. I don't know what I was thinking" she said still not looking at me.

"Hey, I just told you that I liked you" I say shrugging. I gently lift up her chin to face me. "Astrid, I truly am sorry that I just left like that."

"It's not your fault, and you don't have to be sorry" she smiles at me, and her bright blue eyes are looking straight into mines, "I like you too by the way, if that wasnt obvious" she says

"Well then Miss Astrid Hofferson would you do me the honors, and make me the happiest dude alive, by being my girlfriend?" I say while grabbing her hand, and jokingly getting down on one knee

"I would be honored" she says laughing

I help her up, and I hug her holding her close to me never wanting to let go now that I have the the girl of my dreams, my best friend right by my side.

Astrid's POV:
Hiccup drops me home, and I quietly unlock the door and I see a figure in the dark sitting on the couch. "Jacob, is that you?" I whisper.

"You're an hour past curfew" the guy says turning on the lights

"Dad, you scared me. I thought someone broke in" I say hanging my coat up

"Where did you go?" He asks and comes up to me leaning on the kitchen counter. He's slightly protective of his only daughter, especially if I come home past curfew.

"Oh, you remember Harvey?" he shakes his head "Hiccup? The Mayor's son?' I say

"Ohhhh Stoick's boy! Aye I remember him. A talking fishbone he was" he chuckles

"Well, he isn't much of a fishbone now" I say thinking back to Hiccup's figure. He certainly grew taller, and he has gained some muscle.

"The boy's back?" he asks

"Yeah he came back yesterday, and I actually just came back from seeing a movie with him" I say unaware that I was smiling

He looks at my clothing and raises an eyebrow "You went on a date?" he stands up straight now

"Kind of?" I say looking anywhere but my Father

"You look happier than usual. I wanna meet the lad again sometime" He pats my shoulder "Don't stay up so late, okay?" and he heads to bed

Hiccup's POV

I drop Astrid home then head home myself. I enter my home, and I see my Father sitting on the kitchen counter drinking some wine. "Hey, Dad" I take a seat next to him

"Oh, Hi son" he says not looking up from his glass

"Anything wrong?" I ask

He lets out a sigh "Your mom's not feeling well. Gothi came over earlier and said she has a very high fever, and that we might need the little one to come out a few weeks early" he says quietly

"D-Did Gothi say anything about mom? I mean will she be okay?" I ask, and I can feel a lump in my throat

"She just said to bring mom to the hospital in a few days if her fever does not settle" he takes a sip of wine

"Everything will be okay Dad" I pat his shoulder and give him a smile

He smiles back at me "So what did you do today? Why'd you come home late? It's almost midnight son" clearly wanting to change the subject

"Oh, I went out with Astrid. Barnaby Hofferson's daughter" I grin

"Ah is this the same lass you told me about?" he asks raising an eyebrow

"Yeah, she's amazing Dad, and we're kind of a thing now" I rub the back of my neck

"Ah, I remember the first time I asked your mother out. I was so nervous and your Uncle Spitelout tried asking her out once, but he failed miserably. Instead of a date, he got a boot to the...'unspeakables'. I finally asked her if she wanted to go on a walk with me, she said sure. Then a couple years later I proposed to her, and now we have you, and another little one on the way" He shakes his head chuckling "Your mother's my everything Hiccup. I can't imagine a world without her" he swirls the cup around in his hand

"Dad, I'm sure everything will be alright. Gothi's the best healer in Berk!" I assure him

We hear a faint call from my parents bedroom, "Well you head on to bed son. Your mother needs me" He gets up and rushes over to the room

I head over to my room, and quickly take a shower, put on my plaid pajama bottoms, and a plain white shirt. I'm about to fall asleep when I hear a shout "HICCUP!" I jump out out of bed, and rush to my parents room.

"Dad?!" I burst in

"Son, quickly start the car, and call Gothi! Your mom fainted" he says urgently

I look at my mother who's passed out on the bed, her face pale. I nod to my Father and race to the garage, while informing Gothi on what happened. My Father came rushing into the garage with my Mother in his arms, he strapped her in the seat, and we left.

"H-Hiccup" I heard my mother's faint voice from the back

"Mom, everything will be okay. I promise. I love you" I say as we pull over in front of the ER. Dad carries mom inside and I rush to find parking. When I walk inside I ask the lady on the desk where my parents were and she said they were in the operating room, but I wasn't allowed in. I patiently waited in the family section, my leg bouncing anxiously.

An hour passes, and then another. I see Gobber hobbling towards me. "Oy Hiccup! Where's yer Father?" He says

"He's-" I look over behind Gobber to see my Dad walking slowly towards me, his head hanging down "He's right behind you" I say quietly, standing up

"Son, she's gone" He sits down "She's really gone" he's sobbing into his hands now

I don't know what to say so I just sit down next to him patting his back, trying to hold back tears of my own

"What about the baby?" Gobber asks sitting next to his best friend patting his shoulder

"He survived. They're keeping him inside some machine. They said he has to be in there for a while" he sniffs, pulling himself together

"He? The baby's a boy?" I ask

"Aye, He's a wee little thing. He looks like you when you were a baby, except he has your mother's eyes" my father said ruffling my hair

"What are ye namin' him?" Gobber asks

"I have no clue Gobber. I just wanna see if he makes it" he says quietly

"Can I go see him?" I ask

"If ye want. Just go ask the lady on the desk. I'm gonna quickly head home, and grab some things" my father says as he gets up

I ask the nurse where the new Haddock baby was, and she directed me to a small room where I saw a tiny baby inside this box thing with purple lights surrounding him. He looks so fragile in there, as if with one touch he'll shatter. But there's also something else about him, a fighting spirit, a fighter, a warrior. I examine his face. He has a little tuft of auburn hair, and his face is the perfect mix of my....our parents. "You have to survive little guy....for mom" I whisper, then leave the room once a nurse comes in.
