It's You And Me, Always

A year has passed since the whole Arthur thing. Little baby Finn is now a year old and Zephyr is 4. They grow up fast don't they? Anyway, let's see how the Haddock's are doing today.

"Hiccup! Did you see where Zephyr's backpack is?!" Astrid called from the bottom of the stairs to Hiccup, who was busy trying to get Finn dressed in their room

"I think! Did you check by the dining table?! Zeph and I were doing her homework there just last night!" He yelled back, running after Finn, who escaped from Hiccup's grasp

"Mommy! Stormfly has it!" Zephyr exclaimed and pointed at Stormfly using her backpack as a nice scratching mat

"Stormfly, no!" Astrid ran to her, and she immediately ran away, leaving the very scratched bag behind, "Oh no, Zeph, your bag is all scratched now" 

"It's okay, Mommy. Daddy and I can fix it! For now I can use my old one, right?" Zephyr said

"You, my little one, are very smart, just like your Father" Astrid said, giving her a quick kiss on the forehead, "Go, quickly grab your old bag. I'll go help Daddy get Finn dressed, because you know how much your brother hates getting dressed" Astrid said, and Zephyr went obediently to get her bag

"Hiccup? Need any help?" Astrid asked, leaning on the doorframe with her arms crossed, watching her husband struggle to get their son in a maroon shirt

"Maybe just a little" He sighed, handed her the shirt, and watched as she easily put it on Finn

"That's how it's done, Haddock" She grinned, while picking Finn up and heading back downstairs

"You have that magic touch when it comes to dressing kids up milady" Hiccup said, walking down with her, and he remembered that Snoggletog 5 years ago when he was trying to get this really ugly sweater on Dustin, he chuckled at the thought. 

"Daddy, do you think we can fix this?" Zephyr asked, holding out her scratched bag to her Father, who examined it

"Yeah, we definitely can. I'll see if I can go buy some patches we could stitch on your bag, okay?" He said, hanging the bag on one of the dining chairs, "C'mon let's go, or you're gonna be late." Once everyone was strapped in, they started making their way to Zephyr's school. "Hey, Astrid"

"Yeah" She replied back absent-mindedly, as she was looking at her phone

"I never thought that I'd be that kind of Dad who'd put those little family stickers on the back of their minivan" He laughed

"Well, I didn't think I'd turn into those Mom's who prepare their kids' lunches in the shapes of little animals" She said, laughing

"What's so funny?" asked Zephyr curiously

"Oh, nothing Princess. Mom and I were just chatting" Hiccup replied, smiling at Zephyr from the mirror

After dropping Zephyr off to school, Hiccup and Astrid took Finn over to Arthur's place for a little more bonding time. They decided that kids would spend time with Arthur at least once a week, just so they could have that special family bond.

"He should be home by now" Hiccup said, as he knocked on Arthur's door

"Hey! I wasn't expecting you guys till later." Arthur said, once he opened the door, and motioned for them to come in

"Yeah, we just decided to drop Finn off now while Zeph's at school. I hope you don't mind" Astrid said, closing the door

"Oh, no it's alright. Me and Dart over here and best buds. Right, Finn?" Arthur asked, picking Finn up. Dart is a little nickname Arthur gave Finn, because of how Finn ran all over the place
